I can't believe I burned money on this piece of crap. I bought it to complement my EMAD batter side head and within 2 weeks of having it, it cracked. This head cracked down from the vent slots, and now I have to again replace it. The head looks cool, but sucks. I'm gonna get me a more traditional head with a hole port. I'm very disappointed with this head, and use Evans for all my other heads....it's a let-down.
After replacing my old head with the Evans Eq 2, I noticed a huge difference in the low-end response. The vents work better than a big hole because channeling the air through a smaller space creates more air pressure, thus giving a kick drum mic diaphragm much more response. I definitely recommend this head!
I bought this head from this site and after a few jam sessions the head cracked from the vents down. I spent 40 bucks for a head that gave me 2 weeks worth of use. I am greatly disappointed by this product.
I have used this head on a 22" Pearl Session Elite, and a 22" DW kick drum. This head made a world of difference on both kick drums. You can hear and feel the extra lows this baby produces.Be careful and don't tune it too tight though or you'll choke most of the low frequencies out.
