Comments about Evans ES B14HBG DrumHead:

I bought it for one of my metal snares. Namely for a WorldMax 14"x6.5" brass shell snare drum. With the drumhead I used to play it before, it gave a whole lot of overtones and was way too loud comparing to other drums and cymbals of the drum set. With this drumhead it gives a lot more controlled sound. It is quieter now, but still gives enough crack and overtones. I am very happy with its sound now!

Comments about Evans ES B14HBG DrumHead:

Awesome sound. Dark tone and short sustain. Perfect for my really echoey band room. Crank it up tight though. Doesn't sound nearly as good loose. Took my Evans Genera HD off, and it won't be going back on. Will buy again.

Comments about Evans ES B14HBG DrumHead:

Put this on my Yamaha Birch 14" snare with a Evans 300 Hazy snare side. Also using Puresound 24 strand wires and a DW MAG throw off. Took me a while to get the sound I wanted but I did and it's SWEET. Trick is get the snare side TIGHT. Really really tight. Only downside to this batter is that the "sweet spot" that produces the fullest, most balanced snare tone is fairly small, center 5-6" diameter. I can't seem to get good rolls outside this zone. Also the stick rebound is a little underwhelming but I have the batter tension down for a darker tone so that may be contributing. Overall, I am real happy with this batter and will buy Evans again definitely!

Definitely worth the money. I will most likely buy this same head when need be.
Has a great sound when tuned right. It really accents the colors of my set also!

This is a great head, great dark tone with very little sustaain. I think it sounds perfect for my style of playing. It is very durable, I can beat the crap out of the head and it just takes it. Will buy again

Comments about Evans ES B14HBG DrumHead:

This head not only looks great but tunes in real sweet. it has a tunability that is desirable and a playability that is inspirational. The high tones on a wood drum might not be there, depending on the room, it will depend on the drum and it's quality. But it makes the good ones sound great.

Comments about Evans ES B14HBG DrumHead:

I put this snare head on a pearl export kit to replace the worn stock remo head. It was easy to install and tune. I did not change the snare side. This head seems to be a bit louder but not as bright as the stock head, rim shots are a little tougher to get a good pop, but I'm not a drummer, I just own the kit, so someone with more experience may not have any trouble getting the sounds they want out of it. Definitely more durable than the stock, and just looks plain cool on the kit. Tommy likey, chickey wings!
