        Bye, bye slippage; hello stardom!

Using the standard 351 size guitar pick, Everly added a 10-point star shaped cutout where your thumb and finger meet, for the perfect no-slip grip. Star Picks Classic Shell is for those who prefer the classic sound of celluloid. Celluloid has been the premium material of picks for over 70 years. No weird shapes, leashes or sticky goo from planet Xoltar. Just a slight evolution to meet the needs of today's musician. Let's face it; the only thing more embarrassing than accidentally dropping your pants on stage is accidentally dropping your pick during a solo. Think about it.

Everly Music Company, a venture started and run by Phil Everly (of the Everly Brothers) has patented the wildly successful guitar pick design.

Star Grip Pick - Medium, Celluloid

        By Big Danny

        from Signal Hill, CA

Comments about Everly Star Grip Classic Shell Celluloid Guitar Picks:

Love these picks... used Fender Mediums for years, but I love the star hole... pick doesn't slip or rotate. I've used these for 2 or 3 years, they wear great and I've never broken one...

I had used the regular star picks before, but wasn't happy with them... wrong gauge, wrong feel... something... but then Everly started making them in celluloid and they are perfect.

        Everly .96 Star Picks

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

Comments about Everly Star Grip Classic Shell Celluloid Guitar Picks:

I have used these for over a year now playing bass. I also use flat-wound strings. I have not had any problems with these picks breaking, and the wear is excellent. I can see where using a lighter version on wound strings, either for guitar or bass might be problematic, depending upon playing style.

        Rip-off of another pick design

        By Jazzua

        from San Diego, CA

Comments about Everly Star Grip Classic Shell Celluloid Guitar Picks:

These picks are O.K...The thing I don't like about them is they claim to have invented this idea. They ripped-off Moshay picks, the original picks with a hole in the middle for grip. Moshay picks are the best picks I have ever used. I can see why this design was used, I just don't like this company pretending they invented it.

        Nice product

        By GibsonLesPaul45

Comments about Everly Star Grip Classic Shell Celluloid Guitar Picks:

I'm not sure how people are breaking these picks so easily. I've found them to be very solid & reliable; but, then again, I don't wail on them or shred like a madman, so your mileage may vary. The star makes it a lot easier to hold onto the pick when you're strumming; particularly, as you perspire. My advice would be to give them a try. Use the Mediums if you have any doubts. We're only talking about a few bucks. For my money, they're well worth it.

        Not the same

        By Free2bFred

        from Ohio

Comments about Everly Star Grip Classic Shell Celluloid Guitar Picks:

I have been using Everly star grip picks exclusively for over 2 years now. For sweaty hands stummin' acoustic there is no finer pick for staying put with wet fingers. Having said that you understand I am using the thin picks for acoustic stumming. I decided to reherse for the week when these celluloids arrived. By the second song I had broke the fourth one and switched back to the trusty "red" star grips...if you plan on buying some of these - save your money I'll give you the rest of the 2 packs I got here.

        Wake up little Suzie...

        By sfballach

Comments about Everly Star Grip Classic Shell Celluloid Guitar Picks:

I tried this model recently and felt right at home with my fingers touching. I don't know if a guitar pick can have sensuousness but this pick is accidentally like that. It it seemed to have a lighter touch; disappearing in my hand as wandered down the path of my favorite sweeps. And it looked cool next to my Kay hollow body electric. Good job Everly brothers. Simple yet profound.

        Nice Idea, but...

        By Cynth The Poet

        from Monterey CA/USA

Comments about Everly Star Grip Classic Shell Celluloid Guitar Picks:

One of my biggest gripes comes from the one flaw in the design that keeps getting to me: it can easily break while you're playing guitar. To be fair, these work best if you're very gentle and use lightweight strings. But if you want to shread...forget it. You'll get so frustrated that you can't finish a song without the top of the pick splitting. If you really want these, then get the heaviest ones they have...not the .71mm thickness. They just don't survive all that long.

        PICK another pick

        By Fast fingered Clown

from In a van down by the river

Comments about Everly Star Grip Classic Shell Celluloid Guitar Picks:

I use the regular Star Picks and decided to try these because of the "vintage vibe." Shouldn't have done it. These picks are NOT good. They break very easily near the star cutout. They also are very slippery compared to the regular star picks. Skip these and get the regular ones, which are great.
