I play bass in a church ensemble with small gigs on the side. I bought this cable primarily because it has good-quality American made Switchcraft jacks which are dependable and easy to repair. As another reviewer noted, the cable/jack connection is encased in a solid plastic mold, which I guess helps prevent shorts, but could be a problem if you have to repair. Also the Switchcraft threads tend to loosen with the vibration of playing, a problem I have solved with a drop of Loctite. The cable is supple, coils nicely for storage, straightens out well when playing. Overall appears to transmit clean sound and is sturdy. I like it.

This cable is good enough for the money. I compared it to the Dimarzio Chrome cable and the EVH is ultra skinny. You might be surprised when you open it to see how skinny and flimsy this cable is. The ends tend to loosen up on their own, but that is also true of dimarzio. Soundwise, I would say the Dimarzio sounds better and is more durable (and cheaper). Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad cable, it puts your sound through to the amp nice and clear, if I was gigging, however I would be concerned about the durability.

I bought this cable about two days ago, it is a very good quality cable. One thing, though, is that I wanted this for a killswitch. I was sadly mistaken. Although it does unscrew, what I need to get to is encased in some kind of plastic. Good cable, just not what I thought it was.

I have just found Eddie Van Halens secret behind his tone! This cord just delivers so much tone and gives that Brown sound in spades, even through my Line 6 spider III. When I plug in this cord it feels like 1978 and I just have to play Eruption right away. When I showed my friends they were just FLOORED by the tone it delivers. This is a key element in Eddies tone clearly and any fan looking to capture brown sound needs to have this cord. Period.
