These are probably the best feeling strings I've ever used, however if you're into cosmetics, these strings may not suit you, though they break in sweet as butter, the physical appearance diminishes like crazy, totally killing any aesthetics, definitely great for recording if you like playing things fast and want a crunchy tone, they've got some slink to them, so you can bend pretty far, but I've since switched to dr lite-n-tires, same crunch, same speed, tighter feel, and longer aesthetics, and break in just as well, only downside is that the tite feel kills bending opportunity unless you've got a tremolo. I still give these strings 5 stars for an unbeatable tone and vast range of styles they can be used with, once I got tired of them, they got put on an old acoustic and it played great country tunes like a set of martins would, so, they're pretty much ready for anything.

I'm a big fan of Van Halen. When I finally bought a guitar with a locking bridge I wanted to try different strings to see what works and what doesn't.
I've tried a number of brands and so far these strings can withstand the most heavy of whammy bar usage. I can perpetually dump the bar and they always stay in tune. I really haven't had the same experience with any other string company yet.
I played the .9-.42 set. I recommend these strings if you like doing a lot of squealing dive bomb harmonics or rather just any kind of crazy dive bombing that you'll hear Eddie doing on every record.
Buy n' try.

Tone is good, quality is great, but the price and string gauge limitations brings it down. Ghs is still my number 1
Great sound, broken in feel. I loved the fact that they didn't have that initial slinky metallic pop sound you get when puttin on new strings. They only needed minor stretching to get going.
Amazing quality. Nothing short of great.
A little pricey. I could have had 2 Ghs boomers(my favorite) for the price of this. I wish they would come out with more custom sets like 10-42, 10-38, etc.

I had my new Ibanez set up yesterday with the EVH 9-42 strings, and for the first time I played my guitar with these new strings today, I will look no further for my favorite strings, these are it!EVH was right, slap em on and Jam! I've never had new strings feel this good right off the bat. G

ive played every brand over 25 years,these strings feel broken in as soon as you put them on.The bass strings obviously feel a little new but it takes a lot less time to break in and i can only say they feel awesome.its easier to play and its not weak though it sustains real good.i tried them justr because of the evh brand then i bought 7 more packs because their in the non corrosive package.it reminds me of when i used to boil the strings in the 80s and thats what eddie used to do so its no wonder the feel good right off the bat.
