It's good. I plan to try and make it last. Once you take it out of the clamshell packaging
the product is vulnerable. Invent a small case for it, I did. Found an old microphone
    zipper-pouch.
I had a different tuner with no back lighting. Gigs are normally dark bars that barely have the
lights on. This tuner has the light. Believe me, it's essential.

The red L.E.D.'s let you know which string you're tuning. I play a 5-string bass and that
"other" tuner by the company which shall remain nameless (but starts with "K" and ends
in "org") you had to switch the button between "bass" or "guitar". This one just lights up
the "B" when tuning the low "B" on the bass as if it were a guitar string.
Seems about as stout as can be expected these days. I'm an old timer and can remember
the 60's when everything was built like a tank and built to last for 35-40 years or longer.

These days you just have to "baby" your equipment. Realize that things are built to be
as disposable as a Bic lighter and try not to rough handle them and maybe it will last you
    an entire year.
I'm split on this. This is one item that every other year it seems the price gets cut in half.

I had one of these when I bought my first guitar 15 years ago... wasn't worth $19.99 then and isn't worth it now... I had it for a few years but quickly upgraded to a pedal tuner that I still have to this day that works amazing... I have no clue why Fender would allow their name to be put on this poor excuse for a tuner. Don't ever drop it... even on carpet... that's how mine broke. I'm a full time worship leader and youth pastor and I'll often have kids in my youth group just learning how to play guitar bring on of these tuners and their guitar to me and say "Tune it... I use this tuner but it still sounds out of tune"... So I pull out my Boss TU-88 that I keep in my desk drawer and tune it right up or do it by ear with a piano in the church... After 15 years I can't believe Fender hasn't done anything to improve this gadget and still allow their name to be put on it...

Comments about Fender AG-6 Sparkle Tone Tuner:

I received this Tuner as a Free Gift from Musician's Friend for Purchasing a Fender Champion Model Guitar Amp. The Amp in itself was a great Buy and the Free Turner just made it even Better. The Amp is Great and the Tuner is right on, & Easy to read and Its Pretty all Sparkly. lol All I can say is Musician's Friend is Just that a Good Friend!

Extremely accurate tuning. The acoustic guitar tuning microphone feature was particularly helpful. I even tried singing the Do Re Mi scale into it just for fun. Happy to say I could peg every note!

Comments about Fender AG-6 Sparkle Tone Tuner:

This review is for Musician's Friend, not the tuner, as it didn't work. I just purchased a Fender Mustang III v2, and the tuner was a freebie as part of the sale. I wanted to try my new amp with new strings, so I put a set on my Les Paul. This is the first amp that had a tuner feature, and I didn't think about using it. Anyway, the tuner battery light works, but the needle and indicator lights just do their own thing, with no rhyme or reason. Got out my trusty old Wittner and tuned it up. I called MF and the customer service gentleman apologized and sent me a new one. I know, I know, it was free, so what is the problem. Well, anything that they sell with Fender on it should work. I don't think that Musician's Friend has any peers when it comes to customer service. Thanks Guys!

I haven't figured out the low rating on this. Hit and miss? Mine has been great. Easy to use, durable (has even fallen off of my amp onto concrete) and still worked fine. Yes it has battle scars. I use it for bass 4 and 5 string and also guitar. Plug in guitar nothing happens? Turn your volume control(s) up. I'm happy enough with it that i'm going to try the fender clip-on model also. Great buy lasted 5 yrs already
