Doesn't fit Bass VI

By jk

from KCMO

About Me Professional Musician

It does not fit a Fender/Squire Bass VI.
I believe because of the offset body.
I don't know if a Jazz Bass fits but it has an offset body also..I'd check first.
Otherwise a nice well padded case.

I have owned, sold, and traded six of these basses since 2007. The best of the lot I kept was a cherry burst Korean made one. This 2007 bass is flawless, end to end. My 2002 version was also nearly as flawlessly made. At the present time, enter the ones made in Indonesia and my experience changed very dramatically. With the Indonesian ones you soon see that Lakland is also a business. They must of have cut costs. I have had ones with poor neck joints, where nice size gap existed between the neck and the body. I bought one where a paint brush fiber was visible through the finish and I was shocked that it wasn't detected by their quality check. The black one I returned to Musicians Friend had the worse fret edges I had ever experienced. And I paid full price for the bass thinking I was getting another Lakland to backup my Korean one. It took many purchases to get a second Skyline 55-02 that I thought was worth the money, and worthy of being kept. Now, to find a very well made 55-02 very easily is the exception rather than the rule. Lakland needs to back to or start to more closely inspect the quality of these basses, and all their Skylines in general, especially given the high prices. I expect better quality than less pricey MIM Fenders.

The bag is just what I was looking for without having to pay a high price. For some reason, I like bags that are flexible by well padded. This one is just such a bag. Also, I was looking for a snug fit from my basses, a snug fit that would mean easy fitting into my small Acura trunk opening. The straps tuck in and I like that for any bag, especially since I tend to take them off to keep them as sleek as possible. Both interior and exterior are well and appropriately made. My other obsession, zippers, seem to high quality on this one. But only time will tell. I have only had this for about less than a month.
