The Fender Jazz Bass Cases I purchased at Musician's Friend fill the bill perfectly! Constructed by G&G Cases of L.A. California, MADE IN THE USA! Outstanding quality at a very competitive price. They hug my Jazz Bass snugly and securely, and my Ibanez ATK fits like a dream. If you have a bass with the overall size similar to a Fender Jazz Bass, (Ibanez, MusicMan, G&L, Peavey, Carvin, etc.) This is the case to get, and at $139.95 delivered to your door (in the lower 48)this is the BEST DEAL you're going to find! Stash that flimsy gig bag and treat your cherished bass to a REAL secure and protective hard case.

The perfect case for the perfect bass

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

Very well built case. You wont find any plastic parts on it and is made by G&G cases built to vintage specs in America! I have the tweed with red interior and it is simply gorgeous, It is actualy quite heavy and weighs a little bit with my Mexican standard in it. This is not the case you want if you plan for it to be slammed around on tour or to take a heavy beating, It's a NICE case and if cared for well, it will be what my grandkids find an old beat up beat up fender jazz in 50 years from now.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

I'm typically a gigbag user (hybrid bags like Mono, InCase, Sadowsky Portabag, etc.) because of the convenience of throwing your bass over your shoulder and going into the gig in one trip, but there's something special about pulling a vintage styled bass out of one of an authentic G&G hardcase. They are built very well, not too heavy, and they look great!

Tweed Classic Hardshell Fender Jazz Bass Case

      By Tom Hathaway

      from Metro Detroit

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

I bought a '62 Vintage Reissue in 1984 which came with the tweed vintage case. After almost 30 years of "weekend warrior" gigging, it was getting a bit too worn, and the spring on one of the latches broke. I tried to get a replacement part for just that but after a very disappointing search, I realized that for this price I could get a new case fast. This case is a real gem and I'm looking forward to another 30 years of service!!
Provides a nice storage space for accesories and a fit for your instrument that ensures it won't move around.
The quality of material and workmanship is extraordinary, hard to find this sort of craftsmanship these days.
At this price with low priced shipping to my front door fast? What do you think!!!

I just recieved this case and it is a well made and beautiful bass case. If you are rough on your equipment I would recomend one of the molded cases on the market. If you take alot of pride in your equipment and like the finer things in life I would recommend it.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

Really nice case own two. Keep in mind, if you let gorilla roady's handle your stuff buy an SKB. These cases are semicustom and don't need to be thrown in the back of the band truck. If you pamper your equipment I would highly recommend them.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

I ordered an "opened" Jazz Bass case that was described as being in "mint condition". When it arrived it immediately became apparent that there was a defective latch on the case. Every time you closed it after putting the guitar inside, the latch would pop open. That's why it had been returned. A week after sending the case back I'm still waiting to hear when the replacement will be shipped. Not the type of service I have received from Musician's Friend. Re-selling returned, defective equipment is not a good business practice because it will cause good customers to go elsewhere in the future.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

Bought this case before leaving on a 5 week tour overseas. Within the first two weeks, I noticed the alignment on the two outside latches seemed off. They were hard to lock into place when closing the case, and sometimes tricky to release when opening.

After 4 weeks of very gentle use (in and out of the touring van to the venue), one of the locking mechanisms on the lack broke off completely, making the latch unusable. The case is always half-open now. I'm sure the other latch won't last much longer either.

Perhaps I was given a defective model, but for such an expensive purchase (and one that is expected to be an investment of sorts) it's a pretty big bummer. I'd be hesitant to go for a fender case with these types of latches in the future.

Love This Bass Case! This is a beautiful bass case! Has the lovely plush interior and it fits my beloved Fender Jazz Bass like a glove! Don't get me wrong, I like the new style Fender Bass Cases, but there is just something about one of these! Maybe it's nostalga, I don't know but these cases remind me of the good old days of traveling with band from town to town...Ah yes, I remember when...Get yourself one of these cases! Your bass deserves it!

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

Four Fender Jazz basses. Four Fender Jazz cases. Although these are not heavy duty, they will do the job well. I have the brown/gold, black/black, and black/orange. All look spectacular. Between them there have been small issues of bass fit, slight gap, and the black/black sheds a little. If you get the blk/blk run your fingers thru it first to get rid of fuzz. I trust them to protect my two MIM Jazz Standards, MIM Jazz V, and '85 MIJ '62 Jazz re-issue. Plus the prices on MF are so much lower than in store.

If you are looking for a case to throw in the back of the band truck don't buy this one, buy an SKB. If you put your Bass in the back seat this is a nice case. Classic Fender(like the good old days)beautiful interior, solid construction. I am very careful with my equipment so this case is perfect for me. An American Jazz and an American Jazz case just kind of go together.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

The case is about $20 off price point perfect, but apart from that this case is amazing. It fits my P bass, which isn't a Fender, and the storage compartment whips that of the comparable generic cases. The finish is really awesome on the inside, although the outside locks tend to wander around a bit, and the keys are not specific to the case, so anyone with a case key can still get in. This is not a big problem though, as I can't stand to leave my gear unattended anyways.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

Like I said, this is the best case that I own. It's heavy to lug around, but that's a good thing.
All the standard features for a quality case. Locking mechanism. Small metal plate with the Fender logo next to the handle. I own another case for my Fender Strat that I bought a few years ago from the same company and it has the larger Fender logo written in script on the side of the hardshell, wish this one had it also.
Really well made, inside and out. I got the tweed case and was really surprised that it wasn't one of those tweed looking vinyl coverings. This is actually a tweed cloth covering. Very nice indeed !! What goes inside is a Fender Jazz bass with a very tight fit. That guitar won't shift at all once the lid is closed. Buy it with the red lining. You won't be disappointed. Beautiful. Best looking case I own.
It is pricey but certainly a lot less money than what some manufacturer's want for their cases.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

The Fender "70's" Jazz bass overall length is slightly longer, apparently, than the other Jazz models (or my case was built to the wrong dimensions). I had to modify (by shaving the padding at the headstock end) to allow the neck to rest in the cradle brace. It fits quite nicely, now, having been customized to fit my bass.

This case is professional quality. The exterior is reinforced at key points (corners, edges), the hardware is heavy gauge, the handle is an assembled unit and not molded. The interior is beautifully lined with a properly fit accessory cavity that includes a snap-lock. The interior dimensions are exactly proportioned for a Fender Jazz Bass and the instrument is properly constrained. I would feel confident using the case for any travel assignment.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:

Some people have complained about the bass not fitting right. Just make sure your bass is sitting in it correctly, it's really not that difficult. It's a very stylist looking case, and I got it for my new Fender MIM Jazz bass in lake placid blue. I have mostly been a guitar player in the past, but my band has very fluid roles in terms of who plays what, and we switch instruments a lot, so I've been playing a lot more bass (and loving it, I just say. It's fun to feel the groove!)t. I traded my old epiphone Bass (along with two effects pedals) to a friend in exchange for an 01 MIM strat, and I gave him the gig bag with that bass, so when I got my new jazz bass (I love the feel of the neck profile, the body shape, and the sound), I figured I might as well get a nice case for it. All that set up aside, the case works exactly as intended, and it has a nice sized compartment for tools, straps, cables, strings, and whatever else you could need to store. I don't really ever lock it, but the latches feel pretty solid, and the case feels sturdy. I have to transport several instruments to every band practice, and I can comfortably throw everything in the back seat or the trunk without worrying about my instruments, and the fender logo under the handle makes the case feel all the more fitting. All in all, it's a solid case I'd recommend to anyone who wants a nice, solid hard case for their instrument.

The case looks great. much better than the regular Jazz Bass case that says Fender but is made in Vietnam held together with 67 Philips head screws. The G.G. case is nice. The bass fits well. The black plush is nice. I thought it would be more like the reddish poodle interior but in black. no it is very plush though. I am concerned that the latches which do lock and unlock ok with the key at this time may fail up the today. I have a fender from 1956 with my origianal 56 strat which still works perfect this thing feels weird when you go to close or snap locked the latches. not very impressed there at all. worried paid a lot of money don't want the darn thing to break in six months or a year or something premature like that. I am not abusive with this equiptment so all I can say is I feel disappointed with the two outer latchs.
