Fender Premium KoilKords have a distinctive coiled-cable voicing like the Standard KoilKords, but with more extended highs that accentuate the chime and sparkle of your guitar. The 2-Way Differential Cable Architecture augments the stranded conductors with specially designed hollow treble conductors that give these cables a better high-frequency presentation, and a unique voice that has not been heard before. Fender optimized the stranding of these guitar cables to compensate for the coiling, which adds inductance, and also affects the sound.

FEATURES
  • Finest grade 99.99% purity OFC copper conductors for superior sound quality
  • 2-Way Differential Cable Architecture for best possible frequency balance
  • Maximum noise isolation using two separate shields
  • Premium-quality, abrasion-resistant high-temperature PVC jacket for maximum durability
  • Precision engineered connectors for maximum conductivity and reliability
  • Proprietary Fender right-angle connector
  • Precision formulated polypropylene dielectric for maximum signal transfer and unique tone

I play straight through the amp, and this cable delivers, is noiseless in itself, and delivers a strong, clean signal.
I've owned one of these for over a year and like it so much that I've bought another one. Great cable.

OK, I'm being nice and rating this a 4. I've wanted a retro coil cable for a long time. For the looks, as well as for the practical purpose of keeping some of the clutter off the floor in my tight studio space.

This was just so disappointing, especially for a Fender product. First of all, it sucks the tone out of your instrument. The tone of my Fender Strat becomes noticeably thinner going through this. Checked back and forth with several other cables many other times, to make sure I wasn't fooling myself. Worse, it's like an antenna for static. Especially on high gain sounds, anytime you touch or move the cable it amplifies the motion as noisy cracking. Not acceptable.

Also, the cable is thin (like a cheap cable) and the coils untwist and lose their shape over time, which looks awful.

I WANTED to love my fender coil cord, and did so for the honeymoon, but it became a tangled mess that shorted out on the right angle end, and the ends aren't repairable, so currently, til Friday (garbage day) anyhow, it resides in my kitchen garbage can...... and it was SO awesome for the first 4 or 5 gigs.
Back to the black, straight ones I have been tripping over for 20 years.

Comments about Fender KoilKords Premium Instrument Cable:

Finally, no tripping over or stepping on the cable while moving around. Cable does not get kinked or knotted up. Previously used coils in the 70's, should have stayed with them. Not going for a vintage look, just great functionality. Good quality materials, but haven't had long enough to comment on durability. If you're sick of untangling cables and having to kick or whip you're excess cable length out of the way, get this cable. A little pricey, but if it lasts, it'll be worth every penny.

Comments about Fender KoilKords Premium Instrument Cable:

I use it on small stages, plugged straight into my Fender tube amp(s) from my Fender Tele Dlx. If the stage is large, I'll put it next to the wireless receiver on top of my amp in case my batteries die. This is a high quality cable, and keeps me from stepping on or getting snagged by straight cables. And the right angle end WILL plug into the recessed guitar jack.

                Disappointed

Comments about Fender KoilKords Premium Instrument Cable:

I'm now trying a coiled Bullet Cable..it has a lifetime warranty..we'll see how that one does.
I've had this cable for over a year, but have only used it about 20 times. It started cutting out intermittently, and I thought this can't be the cable..it's not that old. But sure enough, every time I replace it with a Whirlwind, the problem stops. So, out it goes..I saved the box, and retrieved it from the garage, hoping it had a lifetime warranty, but no..no warranty that I can find. Looks great, but poor quality..sorry.

I bought this because I thought it was awesome. Price aside, its just like any other cord, but it looks stylin and never tangles. Its not that long, especially since its curly, and I suppose its only usable thru a pedal or in a practice amp. I use it for both, but never straight out of my big old tube amp.

Yeah, its neat and all, but.....

Comments about Fender KoilKords Premium Instrument Cable:

After a SHORT while, it starts cutting out, probably due to the cheap 90deg end! Yes, having a coil cord is cool! Keeps you from tripping on it, keeps it nice and neat, but you're better off with a standard cable! This thing is WAY overpriced, way too unreliable, and has the life span of a snowball in .... You get the picture. I'm checking, 'have used it' because mine went in the garbage!

Comments about Fender KoilKords Premium Instrument Cable:

After purchasing alot of cables, trying to find the right one, I decided to try a Fender Koil, I received the cable yesterday. I thought, we'll see how this one works, THIS IS THE BEST CABLE EVER!! It came brand new in the box, the plug ends are extreamly high quailty, the cable itself is very thick and screams quality as well. The real test was could I hear the sound quality, the answer is DEFINETLY YES! I play an American Tele through a 65 Twin Reverb, and oh my god the sound is incredible, I put all my other cables away, including my monster cable. This Fender cable is awesome. It stretches nicely and will never "kink", the angle end fits tight and perfectly into the guitar jack. THIS CABLE IS A MUST HAVE FOR ALL. Thanks Fender.
