Fender Standard KoilKords Cables are not the typical vintage coiled cable designs from the 60s with severely rolled-off highs and questionable construction methods, but rather a new interpretation that does justice to the past without ignoring modern needs.
These newly designed instrument cables are engineered to preserve what is good about the original coiled cables, without the problems and compromises. They do have the distinctive coiled cable voicing, but with a quieter background resulting from a twisted-pair design using separate signal and return conductors, in addition to a double shield over this. The stranding of these cables is optimized to compensate for the coiling, which adds inductance, and affects the sound.
The use of heavier gauge OFC copper conductors and better noise isolation provides a wider range, more open sound, as well as freedom from noise and interference that can compromise recording, or live sound performance.

I grew up with coil guitar cables and loved them. these are very cool, they feel great, work great and sound really, really good. I a/ b'd these with my regular straight guitar cables and the sound was noticeably louder and more clean. I'm amazed at how much this cable has improved my sound and I now use these onstage. I didn't think that cables mattered much to my sound but, I stand 100% corrected and had to write this review for everyone to try these out. Do the a/ b test with your cables and you'll be amazed at how much better they sound than straight cables! Also - I've had a lot of people come up to me after shows and ask what kind of cable that is and they love the white -- looks cool on stage. Pretty cool Fender, nice job!!

Garbage Cable. Better use would be to hang a plant from it.
Warning do not buy this cable. I had the original one replaced by MF, and still have the same noise issue with the replaced cable. It crackles when you move with it plugged in to your amp. The shielding is POOR on this cable, and I'm sure Fender knows about it. It Never should have been put on the market. Do Not Waste your money on this cable.

The fender koilkord cable that I got is pretty good. It still works very good after 4 years.
Ive had one of the fender koilkords since 2008. There is a lil noise when the cable is handled but otherwise it works really well. Good sound quality 2.
This is a good quality cable. Its lasted me 4 years , & still works just as good today as it did the first day i got it.
Its worht the money,but ive seen less expensive cables that where just as good.

I'm a big Fender fan. So it pains me to say that they really missed the mark with this cord. If you do not move its ok but as soon as you move the cord it makes lotsa noise. If your looking for a coil cord spend your money on the top shelf product.

These cables look awesome and I love coil cords but this one just stinks. If you touch the cable while your playing at all you can hear it come through the amp! Not for me at all.
Plus it cut out on me like a hundred times the first day I got it.

this cable was one of the worst ideas ive had in a long time! bought it brand new from a local music store for 28 bucks and it lasted me a month! i've used coiled cables before and love them cause they keep my cable up and out from under my feet and im willing to accecept that there is excess noise in the cable because the way it is designed. this cable on the other hand every time i moved i heard crackling through my amp cabinet and one song into a set at a charity gig it just stopped working on me. luckily i had it running to a stomp box so i jut took the stompbox away and ran through one of my FIVE YEAR OLD yorkvilles! save the money and just buy a yorkville cable lasts longer sounds better.

I got this for valentines day from my mom. It's only been 4 months and its already making noise and buzzing like crazy. I didnt use it too hard because its just been in my studio the whole time. I read the reviews, and while the ones on the 15 footers were bad, most of the reveiws for the 30 foot cables were good. i bought the 30 foot cable, and it stinks. it was good while it lasted, but it wasnt worth it at all. Save your money and buy a Monster or LiveWire or a Planet Waves.

Came FREE with a Fender pedal tuner and I still feel a little bit shorted. As far as build quality goes, it's a good, solid cable. The problem is in the tone. Anyone that doesn't believe a cable can affect your tone needs to try this one. I applaud Fender's efforts on this one, but they missed the mark. The vintage styling gets big cool points, but it severely cuts my tone and I only keep it around as a last resort. It is a plenty reliable cable, just can't get behind the affect it has on my tone.

I bought the 30-ft version a couple of days ago and had some time to kick around with it. The cable has a great sound to it with very little noise or static. Even when I'm moving around and dragging it across the floor, it's a nice clear tone. Despite what some of the other reviews say, I love it and would totally buy it again. It works great through my Mexican Fender Strat and Peavy amp.
