        Fender

Fender Gold Instrument cables are carefully engineered using proprietary technology and manufacturing methods to bring you vastly better sound quality, and a better musical experience. You will notice more information coming from your instrument to your amp, particularly in the area of overtones, and more complex tonality. You will get more of what your electric guitar or bass is capable of, and this will make playing much more enjoyable.

Fender Gold Instrument cables use superior grade 99.99% purity OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) conductors that will give you better clarity and more natural sounding tone. Two solid core conductors result in fuller, more extended response and this is combined with four groups of smaller gauge stranded conductors that give better mid and upper response. This gives the best possible full-range performance with no loss of nuance or tonality. The precision formulated polyethylene dielectric material results in stronger signals that yield better frequency definition and impact, and more natural sound. The Fender Gold Instrument cables are also double shielded to provide maximum isolation from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

Fender gold Instrument Cables are available for electric guitar, electric bass and acoustic guitar.

Electric Guitar: The Fender Gold Electric Guitar Cable uses 3-Way plus Differential Cable Architecture to present the best possible balance between all frequency ranges, and to also preserve all the tone and nuance that your guitars are capable of. Optimally selected stranded conductors are used to preserve sustain and the edge that is so important in guitar sound, while two different types of solid conductors augment the bass & midrange, to give a much fuller sound. Specially designed hollow treble conductors give these cables a high frequency presentation to accentuate that chime that Fender guitars are so famous for. These cables have a unique voice that has not been heard before, and use a proprietary technology that is patented and unique to Fender.

Bass: Fender Gold Bass cable uses superior grade 99.99% purity OFC copper conductors that will give you better clarity and more natural sounding bass tone. Two large solid core bass conductors result in fuller, deeper, more extended bass response and this is combined with four groups of smaller gauge stranded conductors that give better mid-bass and upper-bass response. This gives the best possible full-range bass performance with no loss of nuance or tonality. The precision formulated polyethylene dielectric material results in stronger signals that yield better definition and impact of lower frequencies, and more natural sounding bass. The Fender Gold Bass cables are also double shielded to provide maximum isolation from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

Acoustasonic: The Fender Gold Acoustasonic Guitar Cable uses 4-Way Differential Cable Architecture to present the best possible balance between all frequency ranges, and to also preserve all the tone and nuance that acoustic-electric guitars are capable of. Optimally selected stranded conductors are used to preserve sustain and the edge and dynamics that are so important in guitar sound, while two different gauge solid conductors augment the midrange & bass to provide a much fuller sound. Specially designed hollow treble conductors give these cables a better, more extended high frequency presentation, with no trace of harshness. These cables have a unique voice that has not been heard before, and use a proprietary technology that is patented. They are specifically designed for acoustic-electric guitar or electric guitar when a more clean sound is desired.

I want to be generous to Fender. If the indentation mark on the plastic sheath is just superficial , cosmetic and external, and if the cable holds up well over time (contrary to the few other reviewers who complained that it did not in their case), I think that this is a quality product and I will be a happy customer.
Folks, there are "calbe believers", and non-cable believers. I happend to belong to the "believers", at least up to a certain price point. IMO, this is a quality cable. I purchased the "acoustic 12ft". I have been experimenting with "acoustic cables" for e-guitar, and perceive that I recover more harmonics and more higher frequency sounds. This is a big, fat, heavy quality cable.
OK, there is the thing. I am impressed with the sound quality. I am not so impressed with outside the finishing on the cable. Did the factory have a bad day? Why is there some red paint scattered over the cable surface. But really of concern, why is there a presure indentation in the plastic sheath of approximately 3/4 inch near one of the connectors. Was it compressed during constructive or packaging? I was at the verge of returning it to MF, but then tried it out and reflected over how much of a PITA it is to exchange such an item (even though MF is very good about it). It is also costly to MF and costly in terms of time to me; (yes I am concerned about MF finances, as they have been good to me over the years, and I want them to continue to be there for me).

But back to the subject. I was on the verge of requesting a Return Authorization. Then I thought, why not try it out. Wow. The sound quality was undeniable to my ears!
If the finish was as it should be! Come on Fender. Do you believe in quality control in manufacturing? Someone should have seen this during manufacturing / packaging.

        The New Standard

I have a few high quality cables and recently i saw this 1 on sale and thought, what the heck i need 1 for my new processor anyway[plus it matches my Fender Cyber Deluxe Combo Amp)So i ordered it and WOW!! Just the Box alone impressed me,so much that im keeping it.This Cable is the thickest I've ever seen and feels like a Bullwhip. Im amazed at the Quality and Construction, its Double shielded and has Triple conducters. I would pay full price and still be happy. I think its better and thicker than Monster Cables !! I highly, highly recommend this Cable because it has set a new personal Standard!!!

        Best Cable!!!!!!!!

        By Bass/Guitar Masta

        from California

This is a amazing cable! First of all, the bass cable works with guitar and the guitar cable works for bass, it just lables each one BASS or GUITAR. Second, it comes with a velcro strap to tie up the cord! Third, I got the 12 foot bass cord and I also have the 12 foot guitar cord. I use them at all my gigs and it sound so much better than the cords I use that come with the guitar! Finally, Its made out of a diffrent material than the cords that come with the guitar, so if you bend it as much as you can, it wont break! My recondomation is to buy this cord. You will be very happy!!!!!!!!!

Fender Premium Gold Bass 12' Cable

        By YamahaBass86

        from Minneapolis, MN

I just bought the 12' bass cable. I recently put on new strings, DR Hi-Beam's, on my Yamaha BP 605 and used a cheap straight/angled instrument cable through my Ampeg SVT 3-Pro head and Hartke VX410a cab until my new Fender cable arrived. I was quite content with how good the new strings sounded but when I used the Fender cable it was no comparison. I felt like I was finally able to get that sound I'd been searching for all these years. It had good low end but what was really nice was the definition in the mids and high end. Very clear with tonal definition. You could hear every little nuiance of your plucking and fretting. It made me realize I need to smooth out some of my left hand shifts. Another nice thing was the cord actually fit in the jack on my bass, the last cord I had moved around and you would get feedback. No noise with this cord. It is a bit thicker than most cords but it is worth it and is still flexible because of the use of tweed. Doesn't seem to bunch up, but as long as you roll it up right it should stay that way.PS, the box it comes in is ridiculous, in a good way.

        If you like Fender

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

If you like Fender you might like this. I bought the 10' bass version for my MIM Jazz bass. I use Monster cables on a regular basis, but wanted a Fender cable for my bass. It does not have as good of a sound as my monster cable, but it still sounds fine. Monster cable is cheaper and better overall, but if you really want Fender it does the job. I have not had any issues with mine.

        great quality

        By Greggor

        from ORANGE CA

I have the Tone Master cable, the Platinum cable and now the gold cable by Fender. I have not had problems with any of them. While the Tone Master sounded good it is skinny and might not hold up to stage use.The Platinum sounds increditable and the cable is built like a tank. The Gold sounds very good and it is thick but flexable, just right!

        Accidently bought this cable

        By Spike 142

        from Southern Maryland

I ordered the Dean Z-X, Dean Case and Peavey Vypyr 75watt. I was not paying much attention and ordered this cable also, it says that it is for BASS. I was going to return it but figured I would try it first. I am glad I did, this cable works great for guitar also. I have a Spectraflex cable 10 plus years old and the Dean cable that came with my Z.I am not really sure if it makes a difference if the cable is for Bass or not but this one sounds great with my set up. I play a lot of Dropped D stuff to very clean classical and this cable sounds great whatever you play. It may make the lows on the guitar clearer, I am not sure. It does improve the sound only slightly over my other cables. This is the largest cable I have ever seen also, goes great with my set up. The Dean Z is huge and the Peavey Vypyr 75watt 1x12 is almost is big as my Crate 2 x 12.Great cable, I am going to keep this one. I would suggest getting Fender Pro one though that is for guitar if that is what you are playing though.

        Incredible dislay box!!!

        By ihop

        from Maine

First, it came free with a purchase. I was expecting the crown jewels. The box must have cost more then the cable. Gold box, velcro bifold outer lid, see through inner lid, red crushed velvet sculped, lined inner box, with the ends of the cables setting in fine tissue, like this cable isn't going to hit the floor in a few seconds!!!! Cable looks good, works like a cable, ship it in a plastic bag and put decent jacks in your amps for these cables to plug into. Oh yah, foot pedal cables and guitar cables are two different cats.
