I have never used anything else, so is it the best ? I don't know, but it makes the rosewood fret boards on all of my guitars feel less ,,,well I would say sticky. When I notice my fingers dragging on the frets I spray a little on the fretboard and it just makes it feel much better. It seems to help keep the grunge from building up on the rosewood. It conditions the rosewood , sometimes it starts to look dry and a little spray and it looks deep and rich again. I don't have any maple or ebony fretboards so I don't know how it will work on them.
I use it sparingly and it has lasted me more then 5 years might even be closer to 15. My can is getting low so I bought another one. I wipe it as soon as I spray it and have never noticed any damage to the finish on my guitars. 1998 ibanez s540 , 1973 es335 , 1968 Gretsch double Anniversary, 2005 SG standard , early 80s Japan no name les Paul, JS 100, 3-SZ 520's , SZ 720, s470 . 6-RG's of various years ,2005 epiphone hummingbird,1998 MIM strat, couple of squire stats, couple of epiphone sg's, Lyons bass. I would give it 5 stars but I have never used anything else so I have nothing to compare it to. My friend uses a different product. That he loves but this it tested and true on my guitars do I stick with it. One other thing ,I buy most of my guitars used and they always come gunked up with that finger grease buildup that is so hard to get rid of. I use 000 grade steel wool and finger ease to clean it off when I change the strings. I have been very happy with the results. Would I buy again? ,, yes I did, recommend to a friend, certainly.
The two pictures included show the very slight differences. The fretboard stays clean even after many months. Normally only reapply when my fingers start to drag or fretboard looks dry. Good stuff!

Based on all the glowing reviews, I purchased a can of this wonder lubricant. After using it for a while, I can't understand why everyone loves this stuff. The strings and neck are indeed slippery after it is applied. But after about five minutes of playing it seems like it wears off and the benefit disappears. Additionally, everything I've about guitar strings emphasizes keeping strings clean. If so, they why would you want to spray some gunk over them? I suspect is would eventually soak into the fingerboard too. To its credit, it does smell good.

Comments about Fingerease Guitar String Lubricant:

I've been using Fingerease for many years. It works great, as advertised... When used correctly, quiets string chatter, definitely speeds my playing, prolongs string life, helps keep calluses just moist enough so they don't dry and peel off, prevents the long day/gig finger tip pain, makes slides effortless. Works great at outdoor gigs when humidity or sweat cause finger and hand to neck drag. Surprisingly, does not cause your fingers to slip off the string while doing bends. The only complaint I have, be it small is, once you take the cap off the first time it never stays put when you place it back on can. That can cause a problem if stored in a "gig bag". I've resorted to placing a piece of duct tape on the cap to can. Although that may be "nit picky" drives me nuts!

Great product

Comments about Fingerease Guitar String Lubricant:

This product is great for cleaning strings and extending that new string feel and tone. It will not work in lieu of hairspray. In fact, it's a terrible hair spray. It also won't kill ants, I'd recommend Ortho home defense or Raid products for that. Overall, a great product for strings - but not very versatile otherwise.

What It Is

By chorddog

Comments about Fingerease Guitar String Lubricant:

It's simply WD40 for your guitar strings. Even the smell is as unique as the smell of WD40. If I don't have a can of finger-ease it with me, it's almost as bad as not having a guitar pick with me. If you're not using it yet, just buy it now. You're going to end up using it eventually. But use it discretely at practice. or your bandmates will bum it off you forever.
Makes it easier to play & makes the strings last a little bit longer.
Hasn't changed in the 40 years I've been using it.
Even the can is identical!
Can't beat this price.

I continue to use this Finger Ease spray cause it works. Unwound strings can be very dry and this stuff does the trick. I never play live without it.

Use your fretting hand to spray to avoid the lube getting on your pick holding fingers.

          Comments about Guitar String Lubricant:

Been using this product for years and it works fantastic for conditioning the strings to lower the friction. It all but eliminates the sound of sliding fingers on strings. I apply this once per week on my most used instruments, and twice per month on the lesser used ones. Spray onto a soft cloth then lightly wipe the strings with the cloth. DO NOT SPRAY DIRECTLY ONTO STRINGS UNLESS THE FRET-BOARD IS WELL PROTECTED.

Comments about Fingerease Guitar String Lubricant:

I purchased this to replace my dried up stick of Fast Fret. I was pleasantly surprised. It keeps the strings slick without making th oily. The only drawback seems to be that this could gum up your fretboard if applied too much. When I spray this on the fretboard, I like to place a cloth right under the strings on top of the fretboard to prevent it from getting direct spray on the fretboard
