Unexpected

Features:

This little tuner is AWESOME! I had no idea I was going to buy this thing. It was on sale on a deal-of-the-day, and I decided to give it a try. First, it is much smaller than I expected - and will easily fit in the smallest of case or gig bag compartments. I like this because it is not some bulky piece of equipment to be toting around on your instrument. Frequency range is adjustable, and it works as a clip-on or can also be switched to use its on-board mike - increasing the range of instruments that can be tuned. The screen is amber for out of tune with direction arrows, and it changes to green when you hit the right spot. I'm sure it can be used even in the darkest of rooms, and is still easily visible in bright daylight. This will certainly take the place of my more expensive portable tuner. I have used this tuner with both my guitars and banjos, and expect to use it with my wind instruments too. After using this thing a few days, I'm going to recommend it even at regular price!

Great value clip on tuner

| Review By: Carol France | 2 weeks, 5 days ago

Features:

For my needs this has almost too many options.

It can be used as a clip on tuner, for a crowdor may be used with the built in mike.

There are 4 modes:  chromatic, guitar, bass and ukulele.

The pitch can be based on a @440 or from 435 thru 445.

the range can be adjusted from normal down thru 4 flats.

the screen comes on red if out of tune with an arrow indicating tune up or down. when string is in tune the screen turns green. Green is a narrow slice and it is very easy to pass thru green to red.

Screen is 11/16 " high and 1 and 1/16" wide making it very easy to see. when out of chromatic the tuner tunes by string number

'

Quality:

Three small buttons to the left of the screen are easy to use as thet are raised and separated enough to avoid hitting two at once,

Value:

Bought it on sale at 1/2 price  making it a  great value

Overall:

As a tuner with a wide range of uses this fishman can easily be recommended highly.

As a dulcimer player it is a bit of overkill.  All I need is the chromatic function. Others, particularly beginners may find the rest of the modes makes their tuning easier.Dulcimer

Great Tuner but poor quality casing

| Review By: Gary Thomas | 2 weeks, 4 days ago

Features:

Features are good.  You can change from chromatic to guitar, bass or ukele.  You can modified the pitch.

Quality:

I marked down the quality only because the battery door is a pain.  It is very easy to break the pins off of the end of the door, and it is very difficult to get the door with pins intact into the slot.  The door must push the battery into place... too much pressure in closing the door...the tuner is toast... or the pins snap off.

Value:

I got mine at the stupid deal price of $14...this is about right for the quality of the item...full price at $28...I recommend another tunner like Boss.

Overall:

The tuner works fine...the quality of the casing is questionalbe.

Review of FT-1 Digital Clip-On Tuner

| Review By: Jim O'Connor | 1 month, 2 weeks ago

Features:

We always play down a 1/2 step. This device holds the flat when powered down. When I turn on the tuner it's ready to go.

Red and green light are nice features. When out of tune the up down arrow are handy.

The tuner can be set to show string numbers or string note names while tuning

The tuner is quickly responsive to all strings. Others I've had would not detect the 6th string on guitar.

Has a mic and clip in feature. I use mine pretty much dedicated to clip on.

The tuner is compact. I can leave it clipped on my guitar while is stored its case. While my guitar gently weeps.

The tuner used a standard battery you can find anywhere. CR2032

Quality:

Fishman stuff is always good

Value:

I'm giving this a 10 becasue it sucks to be out of tune. This tuner gets me back in tune quickly

Overall:

My gripes are:  The position of the tuner screen when clipped on the guitar. The readout is "sideways". Kinda funky. But you get used to it.  Also the operating buttons are pretty tiny. But it's worth it, I guess, for a compact tuner
