I use the acoustic version all the time, they are sturdy and portable. With electric guitars the output jack may conflict with the stand. I found this with a Les Paul copy I was playing this afternoon. For the benefit of all mankind I got out my other electric guitars with the jack on the side of the guitar. The (real) Les Paul Studio was OK. The jack on my Fender Jazz American Deluxe cleared the stand but was pretty low to he ground. It would be OK with an angled plug. On the Ric 360/12, the Ric-O-Sound jack was clear but the standard jack was resting on the stand. That was with the guitar standing straight up. It would work if the guitar was leaning slightly to one side. I got out my Ric 4003S. It only has the standard output jack, not the stereo output like most 4003's. If you have a "normal" 4003 you might have the same experience I had with the 360/12. With the Hofner (Icon) violin bass, it was sitting on the jack, and it was a snug fit on the stand.
This stand would also work well for banjo. Don't ask me how I know.

When I opened the box and first viewed the quality, I felt the stand was sturdy and well built; however, I quickly found that there are some design flaws. I have an Ibanez bass as well as an Ibanez RG series guitar. Neither one will fit in the stand correctly while having a plug in the jack. Also, on my bass the round pad at the top rests half on the neck and half off, where the neck meets the body. One wrong move and the guitar would knock over fairly easily. If you have a full-sized, strat-style guitar, which has the jack on the top of the body as opposed to the end, this stand may work well--otherwise, don't bother.

Comments about FretRest by Proline Electric Folding A-Frame Guitar Stand:

This stand is the lightest, most compact and sturdiest guitar stand on the market. Folded, it can fit in many gig bags/guitar cases. Also, this stand or acoustic guitar version will support a 32"-42" (and maybe larger) LCD monitor for a "confidence monitor" to display PowerPoint slides, song lyrics, video playback, Karoake, etc.

I received one of these as a present from a friend. I liked it so well I purchased one for my granddaughter. It is quality made, easy to set up, good value. It's also easy to store or carry in her small equipment bag.

I now have 8 of these stands. They are compact but are very stable and hold my guitars very well. They have a small foot print so the size of the guitar is the determining factor in how many items can be in a given space not the size of the stand. It holds the guitar by the body not the neck. Very compact design that folds up to become very portable. Not quite as compact as the Fender unit, but I think the Fretrest unit is far superior in design and usability. They have my vote.

I bought one to try it out. Ten minutes after it arrived, I ordered five more. Sets up in a snap, and good quality materials and design. I'll be ordering at least two more this week, before my latest acquisitions arrive.

Comments about FretRest by Proline Electric Folding A-Frame Guitar Stand:

This is a great light, portable stand for a gigging musician who doesn't want to lug a large, heavy stand to a small gig. It's not as secure as the larger Ultimate and Hercules models, so I wouldn't use it where people might wander by and bump into it (there is nothing to support the neck of your guitar). But for smaller venues it's fine as long as you tuck your guitar away from traffic.

And a big plus: the stand unfolds securely into position and stays that way, unlike cheap imitations with loosely connected legs that shift and wobble with the slightest touch.

Note that the stands (I've bought 4 of them) come with rubber collars on the legs that don't show on the website photos.

Just recently received my stand and I am empressed already. I am using it on a fairly soft carpet and it seems very sturdy. It works easiest if I first unhook the instument cable from my bass guitar.

Comments about FretRest by Proline Electric Folding A-Frame Guitar Stand:

Every guitar player needs a guitar stand for their instrument. There are dozens of choices these days, and most stands are 'good'. However, this folding A-Frame guitar stand is the best of all worlds. It is quality built, not 'flimsy', won't scratch your guitar, is light and will fit all instruments. Most important for me, is that it folds up nice and is so compact that it will fit into my gig bag easily. Other stands (tube stands etc.) work great, but they have to be packed separately when you load your equipment for a gig. I've even lost some of the parts on my stands before, after loading equipment. I have one for my Strat and I liked this stand so much that I bought a second one for my Tele. Buy one. You won't be disappointed!
