I'm amazed that ProLine can produce, market, and sell a product of this quality for such a modest price. I ordered one of each model for electric and acoustic to see if I liked them. I now own one for each guitar I own. That's eleven stands total. All ProLine FretRest FS100A or FS100E. Same price for either acoustic or electric models.

I'm trusting these stands to hold some serious investments. My Guild D55, my Rainsong OM1000, and two more acoustics. That's the duty of the FS100A stand. The FS100E performs its duty on my Ric 360/12, my Deluxe Strats, Tele, and two custom made axes from Ed Roman Guitars (Baker B-1 and a Quicksilver). The last stand is for an Ibanez SRT800XD bass guitar.

I'm here reviewing these stands because I'm expecting delivery today of a Washburn 12 string and guess what?..........yup. I'm here ordering another FS100A as soon as I finish this review.

These stands are extremely aesthetic, well balanced and sturdy with a very low center of gravity, and fold into a very compact footprint. Then you can consider the cost which is so low that you could afford one for home, one for your rehearsal location, and one for the stage. These things are totally DOPE. Buy one or two. You'll be back for more! Try 'em and buy 'em.
These fold into a very small footprint and can easily go into a gig bag
Your guitars will only touch padded materials that will not damage your finish
They fold out for use in a matter of seconds with no separate parts to attach (or lose)
Well balanced with a low center of gravity
Build quality and design are worthy of both stage and road touring.
Yes, they are made of plastic like most everything else but they are very durable and you can carry 5 times as many plastic stands as opposed to one or two metal stands. (keep in mind that the metal used in today's asian built accessories are cheap pot metal)
This is where I this product shines. I defy you to find a stand of equal features and quality of build and design for the same price.
This is truly a case of getting MORE than you paid for.

Buy something else

Proline does not service their equipment and Musician's Friend does not have replacement parts for damaged items. Proline refers you to Guitar Center to buy replacements. In the future, I'll buy another brand.

These stands and the ones this company makes for electric guitars are the best single guitar stands I've used.

      Rock Steady

      By Len Sandler

Comments about FretRest by Proline FS100A Folding Acoustic Guitar A-Frame Stand:

My wife purchased the FS100A as a gift for me; however, she was worried that it wouldn't support the Gibson Hummingbird I bought in a pawn shop in Mississippi during the 1970s. I read just about every review available for acoustic guitar stands before suggesting the FS100A. Our room is frequented our grandaughters, age 5.5 and two dogs and a cat, so she was rightfully concerned. No matter, the stand is rock steady and supports the guitar. There are no wobbles, no bending and no tippy balance points. It cradles the guitar, which is placed near the wall between couches and hasn't harrmed the finish. What more could I ask for in a guitar stand, except perhaps another vintage guitar to go with it.

Comments about FretRest by Proline FS100A Folding Acoustic Guitar A-Frame Stand:

I really like the FS100A Folding Acoustic Guitar Stand. You have to be a bit careful to keep from hooking them with your strap when removing the guitar, but their light weight, compact package when folded and price make them an outstanding buy. I have recommended them to friends.
Folds very compactly, stable, appropriately padded
I have purchased three of these stands and all seem to be made of pretty good materials and be put together well. I have owned two of them (one a slighly different model for electric guitars) for two years and use them with an electric bass and an acoustic-electric bass. They have held up well.
I believe these little stands represent the best quality available, at this price point.

Comments about FretRest by Proline FS100A Folding Acoustic Guitar A-Frame Stand:

I wanted a sturdy yet inexpensive stand for my acoustic guitar. I have tried others that were flimsy and that did not hold the guitar securely. I am so pleased that this stand delivers. It is sturdy, attractive, and really holds my guitar securely. It is well made. I don't perform so I can't speak to how well it would work on stage but for home it is great.

Comments about FretRest by Proline FS100A Folding Acoustic Guitar A-Frame Stand:

I have a very large Takamine 12 string and large stage stands were unstable. This small stand is solid and super stable even with a large heavy 12. And it's easy to pack.

Comments about FretRest by Proline FS100A Folding Acoustic Guitar A-Frame Stand:

It's just a nice stand, I trust it with all of my acoustic instruments, including an acoustic bass guitar; which is obviously taller and heavier. It's never fallen and it doesn't leave any blemishes on the instruments. Also very portable.

Comments about FretRest by Proline FS100A Folding Acoustic Guitar A-Frame Stand:

This stand was disigned for portability.and as such it folds up nicely and ends up light and small, but by no means flimsy. Because of that, the guitar ends up pretty low close to the floor. I would have prefered it to be a little higher, but then again my guitar was right on the carpet before and that's why I got a stand in the first place. Keep in my mind that I wouldn't recommend any A Frame type stand for a busy stage, as in headbanging bands. I bought it just for home and for that it's perfect and it has the added portability advantage. It's perfectly suitable for an arthouse/coffee shop gig and even a relatively calm stage.
