Safe and stable voltage for optimum performance at an affordable price.
The Furman M-8x Power Conditioner is the perfect low-cost AC power solution for any rackmount system. The Merit Series M-8X has eight switched AC outlets in the rear panel to power and protect all your equipment with up to a 15-amp load.
The Furman M-8x protects your delicate electronic equipment by combining high voltage varistor (MOV) surge and transient suppressors. The fast-acting suppression circuit quickly responds and clamps transient voltages to safe levels. An RFI/EMI interference filter works to prevent noise from fluorescent lights, certain dimmers, radio transmitters, and similar sources of electronic pollution from contaminating the AC line and from there, leaking into sensitive audio, video, or computer circuits. The Furman M-8x Power Conditioner is NRTL/TUV listed.

If you're buying this because you want a rack mounted extension cord with a switch you'll be happy. If you're buying it because you're dealing with noise issues, it's probably not going to do anything for you. I have recently move my recording gear into the basement. I never had noise issues upstairs, I do now. There's florescent lights and concrete. When I turn my guitar amp on I can hear my home's electricity talk to me. It says when the fridge kicks on, it says when the tv changes channels, or a mouse is moved across a computer screen. My studio monitors click and pop. Single coil pickups that were silent before now roar with 60 cycle hum. So I read the Furman marketing: "quieter tone without pops, crackles!" "lower the noise floor!" and then lists a bunch of issues where you'd run into noise problems suggesting this will do something about it. I recorded ambience of the room before and after the Furman with my devices at their moderate, hissy volume. I heard absolutely no difference. Didn't do anything at all. I could spring for the way more expensive version if I still trusted their marketing, but I don't. I thought about returning it but I need a surge protector anyway. Hopefully that works as advertised. Wouldn't buy again.

I primarily bought this thing to help,or eliminate AC hum in my guitar amp from fluorescent lights, and flood lights controlled by dimmer switches! It did absolutely nothing to eliminate hum from either! It ended up being an overpriced multi-outlet box! Folks, don't waste your money on this! It's totally worthless!!!
After my other power conditioner failed for no apparent reason I replaced it with this unit. The layout is simple and functional. So long as it provides clean 120 volt power my equipment will stay protected. Capacitors and resistors do not fair well with unstable power and can result in premature failure. This unit comes with a 3 year warranty.
The job of a power conditioner is to protect your equipment from surges and interference, and this unit does a good job of that. There are no bells and whistles here, so it suffers a bit on features, but it does accomodate wall warts by giving generous spacing between half the plugs on the rear of the unit. Is it pro quality? No, but for the average semi-pro, this will get the job done. If you're a gigging musician, it might be nice to have lights on your unit, but in the end, this is a solid buy on a basic power conditioner, without the lights and meter adding to the cost.
Purchased this for a "live" application. Mounted in my rack for power to all the PA system. One button powers up everything. I have NO HUM or HISS in the PA speakers. Owned for about a year and no problems at all. I just bought another one for home use. At this price it is an excellent but and quality for what I needed.
