OVERVIEW

Provides a stable flow of 120V of AC power and reduces line noise for uninterrupted service.

The 15 Amp Furman P-1800 AR delivers a stable 120 volts of AC power to protect audio equipment from problems caused by AC line voltage irregularities such as sags, brownouts, or overvoltages-all of which can damage sensitive electronic equipment. The P-1800 AR accepts input voltages over a wide AC voltage range and transforms it to a constant output of 120V, ±5V. Voltages beyond that range may also be converted to usable levels, depending on the range variance.

Additionally, the P-1800 AR is a full-featured power conditioner that filters and purifies AC power, reducing line noise and ensuring optimum performance. Not only will your equipment perform better with Furman's Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT), but it will also be fully protected by their exclusive Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) and Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) technologies. This circuitry provides an extremely high level of power protection.

FEATURES
Furman's exclusive SMP technology provides high level of surge & spike protection
LiFT offers AC power filtering to ensure clean power for audio & video clarity
Advanced EVS circuitry detects dangerous voltage irregularities and safely powers down itself and connected equipment in unsafe conditions
LED status indicators warn you when voltage is outside of nominal range or when protection has been compromised
Isolated outlet banks minimize inter-component interference and noise contamination
Large digital voltmeter/ammeter with discrete dimmer button displays incoming line voltage
Three widely spaced outlets accommodate bulky AC power transformers
15 Amp rating featuring a high inrush magnetic circuit breaker for added protection
Nine total outlets (8 rear panel outlets and one front panel convenience outlet)
True RMS Voltage Regulation delivers a stable 120 volts of AC power to protect equipment from problems caused by AC lne voltage irregularities
Rear panel BNC connector powers any standard gooseneck lamp for rear rack illumination
Front panel USB convenience outlets allows you to charge most media devices or power a USB lamp

Order the P-1800 AR and never worry about sags, brownouts, and overvoltages again.

Comments about Furman P-1800 AR Voltage Regulator / Power Conditioner:

I have had many Furman and Monster Power conditioners. I currently own 5 monster power pro conditioners and one other Furman conditioner. This is my first voltage regulator. I have thought about getting one of these for many many years. I should have gotten one or more much earlier. I am using this one for my monitors summing amp and ad/da converters in my studio. This brought the noise floor of my Genelec monitors down a fair amount. When I used to have the volume, super low and would play audio it would sort of come in and out. I mean super super low volume. This is sort of the nature with analog gear (the summing amp is a Neve one). With this voltage regulator, this problem is completely gone. Everything I have played sounds better with this thing. The only thing I do not like is when you turn the power off the input voltage is not displayed as it is with my other Furman and Monster conditioners. The only way to see the voltage is to turn the unit on. Say if you have 150 volts coming in you would know to not turn the unit on as something was wrong with the power. I guess with this one it would be okay and you really do not need to worry because whatever the voltage in there will be 120 out. Then if it is beyond the range of acceptable voltage it would not turn on. So, no damage whatever the input voltage. Maybe this is the reason they do not show this when the unit is turned off.

One other thing the front ac plug is switched. So, it is only active when the unit is turned on.

I just purchases 4 more of these I now have 5 of them in my Control Room. I wish Furman made lunchbox type regulators so I could have a floating one in the tracking room.

Comments about Furman P-1800 AR Voltage Regulator / Power Conditioner:

If you use high quality/expensive gear, whether it be audio or video, you should have something like this. I used it on our last gig, it showed 123 volts coming in - that's nice to know. Clean and quiet protection, very important! I know it's expensive, but what about the rest of your gear? Protect it all, and sound better doing it!

Comments about Furman P-1800 AR Voltage Regulator / Power Conditioner:

I had the P-1800 AR for a few days now. It's great for my audio and video equipment. My Pioneer Pro 141FD's picture is much improved, especially colour and contrast, it's also considerably less noisy and somehow more "stable" if I can say that.

The sound is now audibly more defined and clear, sharp transients come through much nicer as well as dynamic range. By watching the input voltage display I discovered that even new buildings have some light spikes in the AC/voltage. The toroidal transformer seems to be almost dead quiet, I heard a really faint hum when I first turned it on; it disappeared after I turned it off and on again. The P-1800 AR has a five years warranty. I am very happy with the P-1800 AR, the price I got this close to the holidays is pretty great. The professional equipment from Furman is much cheaper than their Home-Theatre products, not to mention that good deals are easier to find in the Pro line rather than HT line.
I recommend it warmly to anybody who runs expensive equipment, Pro or Home-Theatre.

P.S. I have a faulty IC Voltage Regulator on my Pioneer Signature Pro-141FD which makes the monitor shut down when it doesn't negotiate a good video signal over HDMI. I don't think Furman's voltage regulation has had the chance to kick in yet its power conditioning seems to help the TV not to go in shut down mode as much as before. It seems to stabilize it to almost normal operation.
