OVERVIEW

A whole new take on capo design that works beautifully.

The G7th Performance Guitar Capo is designed for enhanced performance and it's simple to use. Not only that, it looks and feels great! Push the lever to release the arms. The G7th Capo fits snugly behind the fret. Squeeze to tighten it from above or below. Simply press the lever to release the capo.

The wrap spring clutch consists of just 3 elements: a fixed hub, a moving hub, and a spring whose inside diameter is just slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the 2 hubs. When the spring is forced over the 2 hubs, attempting to rotate in the direction which opens the capo wraps it down tightly on the hubs, positively engaging them.

Rotation in the other direction, to tighten the G7th Capo onto the strings, is not restricted. To release the capo, the control tang is moved in the direction to unwind the spring, thus releasing the clutch.

The beauty of this type of clutch for use in a guitar capo is that it can be adjusted in tiny increments. The clutch mechanism is a modified tried-and-tested design used in printers and copiers to provide a simple decoupling and overrun device.

It is simply the best capo for an all-purpose capo. It works like it should. The finish seems durable. It is super-simple to operate. It can be stored easily on your headstock. To go from stored to installed is a matter of seconds. It adjusts quickly and can be removed and stored easily and quickly. I couldn't be happier. I liked it so much, I bought one for my son for Christmas.
It does what a capo is supposed to do. It does it in the same natural way as you would barre with your finger.
Most capos mash the strings against the fretboard. This pulls the strings out of tune. That scenario does not work well when playing with others. With this capo, you decide the pressure. The only other one that does this is the Schub. The difference is that this one won't jump off the neck as the Schub occasionally does. I still love the Schub cut capos. But, for the general, all-purpose capo, I think this is the best design and it is well-produced.
It goes on easily, removes easily, and stores on your headstock easily. Easy, easy, easy. I saw where someone complained that it took two hands to remove. If you can't remove this one-handed, you should not be playing guitar. I put it on from the top. To remove, grasp the part on the back of the neck between your thumb and middle finger. Reach up with your index finger and pull the little lever.
This is a well-made piece of hardware. I expect it to last forever.
This is a pricey capo. However, I like it the best. In the grand scheme of things, it just doesn't cost that much. If you don't lose it, you should only have to buy it once.

For the price, I thought this little guy would deliver but I was wrong. It functions really well as any capo should but as for transitioning on-the-fly to a different fret or simply removing it during play takes alot of work and time. Additionally, this one doesnt work like a typical spring-loaded capo which self-closes; you have to squeeze it onto the neck/strings.

I have tried the rest but use The Best!

Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:

.
Whew! I don't even want to think of the amount of money I have spent on capos. I gave the crummy ones away.
I have been there with the old elastic pin grommet models to the first chrome giants. Shubs were cool but wearing, some of the large clamp models are okay, but the G7 is the ultimate OoWha! G7 technology transforms the experience of clamping a capo onto a neck into smooth magic. It's quiet, fast, and can probably make the highest string action playable with just a squeeze. There is no other like it. Now, I am waiting for some kind of miniature hydraulic magnetic grabber so my strap finds the endpin and winds tight to a memory setting - - the perfect guitar strap and locking mechanism. Secure, but able to quick-release for stage fire evacuations. But expect this to be hundreds of dollars. The G7 is an affordable way to use the most advanced technology to solve an age old problem with perfection.

I've enjoyed this so much I bought a 2nd and 3rd one to have with my other guitars. It's easy on and off, and you can control clamping tension so it doesn't affect string tuning. Great quality product. Best capo on the market in my experience.

A little expensive but you get what you pay for. Fast one-handed operation makes it ideal for performances. If I misplaced it I would buy another immediately.

Out of the way and after some time it becomnes easier to use than any capo I have ever used . I bought the smaller one but it works so well I will invest in the 407 . It takes a bit of practice but once you learn how it is a one hand deal and you will never know it is on the guitar . for the money it can not be beat stays in tune also

Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:

I've been using two of these capos for 2 years now, and until recently I liked them very much. BUT - both of them have started to make rattling sounds. Apparently the two halves have become looser over time. If you hold the capo in your hands and wiggle it around, it rattles like crazy. I can hear it rattling when I play fingerstyle. That is not a good thing.

I have a martin 000-28 with a wide neck (1 3/4 at the nut). Had trouble with other capos and poor intonation. Not with this one - I feel like it's barely attached, but the tone is perfect and clean. Real easy on and off.

Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:

My uncle has been playing guitar for 52 years as well as teaching advanced guitar/musical theory for a good many years. He doesn't use anything that is not just right and he won't recommend it to his students unless it's something he'd use. So when he told me to get this capo, I listened. I couldn't be happier with it. The adjustment is so precise, yet fast and simple with the internal clutch. You can adjust the pressure just enough to eliminate buzz, but not so tight that you have to retune after it comes off. I've been using it on a Takamine EN-40C and a G&L Legacy everyday for about a week now. Works perfect. Though a little pricey for a capo.

Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:

This capo is everything I ever wanted in a capo. easy to use, small fretboard fingerprint so it's not clumsy to work around on the higher frets, and it's beautiful.Mine fell apart too, and I couldn't get it to work right again, just like the other reviewer, but dude... check out the the G7th website. it's a lifetime guarantee, and they've improved their manufacturing process. For 4 bucks, i shipped it over to the UK, and they sent me a new one, and tossed in that sleek neoprene case to ease the pain of the shipping.
