Galli Strings

Long-lasting strings from a tradition of innovation.

Gauges 22-37-24w-30w

The Galli Musical Strings Company was established by Tommaso Galli in 1890. At that time musical strings were handcrafted using gut. In 1950 Roberto Galli, Tommaso's son, joined the firm. Roberto inherited the talent of his father and in time became like his father a great expert, a maestro, in the art of musical string making. In the 1970s Galli Strings introduced new technologically advanced equipment into their production process.

Roberto Galli's son, Tommaso, joined the company in 1985. Building on his grandfather's and father's musical and technical achievements, Tommaso Galli has extended into the twenty-first century the Galli tradition of developing and manufacturing fine musical strings.

Comments about Galli Strings UX780 FLUOROCARBON Baritone UKULELE Strings:

I've installed this set on a Pono Baritone ukulele. These fluorocarbon strings have a very nice sustain to them and provide for accurate intonation on a well setup uke. The tension is just right and individual notes really ring out. Also, sliding is a bit easier on this type of string vs the nylguts.

Yes there are two wound strings, with a fluorocarbon center, but two wound strings are normal on a baritone ukulele for the D and G strings.

The two packs I received did have the issue of being just a little too short for easily stringing up, especially the G string. However, I contacted Galli in Italy and they sent me two replacement sets, with plenty of length, free of charge. So its nice to see that they stand behind their product.

Comments about Galli Strings UX780 FLUOROCARBON Baritone UKULELE Strings:

Picked up a set to try when I ordered a Rogue Baritone uke, which is my fourth uke, so while I am not a pro, I am not a neophyte either. Waaay better than original strings, no suprise. What was a surprise is that the two low strings are wound, not smooth flourocarbon like I expected, and that the second string was within 3/8ths of a inch of being too short to use. Actually had to retie a really close loop at the bridge to allow it to reach the tuner. Other strings in the set were shorter than any strings I have ever used, but did reach the tuners easily enough.

Once on, I was impressed with the tone I was able to get from the inexpensive Rogue. Projection is modest, perhaps the strings, but more likely just the uke itself. But they do work well and sound nice on this uke. Biggest concern is that it was a struggle to install with enough length to use on the G (second) string. Order this string for this uke realizing that the fit will be close, and that two strings are wound, not like other flourocarbon strings I have ordered for other ukes.
