I have a Martin D1 that I have owned for nine years. I have wanted a good hard shell case for a long time but the prices were a little high for our budget. But at this price and with the reviews I couldn't pass. The case that came with my D1 was getting pretty beat up and though it was a good solid case it didn't compare with this one.
The fit is snug but that is good. It is well balanced and easy to carry. The lining is soft and plush providing nice protection for the guitar. The latches are easy to manage.
My only complaint is the storage compartment is not deep enough so I barely have room for my strap, tuner and two capos. However that small sacrifice is worth it.
I initially ordered the wrong case (Classical) by mistake and the customer service rep was very understanding and courteous, getting the order canceled for me and ordering the correct one. Five stars to the customer service as well!
All in all I am very happy with this case.

Oustanding quality for the money!
I’ve been using Gator cases for years. They have always produced quality products for less cost than most of their competition. This case is well constructed for those accidental drops. Solid outside shell and beautiful, padded inside. For what you get, you cannot beat the price and quality

Bought this case after contacting Gator directly for advice. I needed a case to fly my acoustic overseas as checked baggage. This case did not dissappoint in any way! The plastic is VERY durable and much thicker than my other ABS cases. The strong metal gasket held together well, as did the TSA latches. I flew to Thailand and back with this case, and my guitar, as well as the case, still looks amazing! It made it through 8 different flights, all as checked baggage unscathed. The TSA agents had no problems unlocking it, as it was checked at several different airports along the way.
This case is absolutely outstanding! Would buy this for any guitar! Thanks Gator!
Great weight (not too heavy), nice TSA latches, beautiful interior, red handle makes it easy to spot, and the molded feet are very stable! Just wish it had one more latch.
VERY solid plastic. Much more rugged than my previous ABS cases. NICE interior materials, and the fit and finish of the gasket/lid are first rate. Latches are very solid, and held up well to the rigors of the airline baggage handlers. Handle is very stable and easy to spot due to the red inset.
There is not a better case out there for the money, IMO. Hands down a better case than their rival's case, which costs more money.

I bought this because I needed to fly with my guitar overseas. My experience with Gator has been very good, so I called the Gator company directly to ask a few questions about the case. They were great to deal with, so I purchased the case. Would buy again, for sure!
Thick, rugged plastic, extra heavy valance, solid latches, TSA lock, solid handle. The red on the handle makes it easy to spot, and the built-in luggage tag is a nice touch.
Gator takes their quality seriously. The way it opens and closes easily, hinges are good quality, solid handle.
Compared to other TSA cases, this one is priced very well. Great case for the money!

I overnighted this Gator GPE-Dread-TSA case the day before flying out to do some recording. I am terrified to use it, primarilly due to the horrible fit. I measured my guitar carefully against the specs on Gator's website. As a machinist, I am used to measuring things extremely precisly. The body length inside the case is 20", not 22.5". The 22.5" is refrenced from the botom of the guitar to where the neck finishes curving out. The body of my guitar measures 19.75", and is still an extremely tight fit. The upper bout of this case is 13", not 13.75". While my guitar measures 41.5" OAL, it is an extremely tight, pressed fit in this case, putting quite a bit of pressure on the neck, and the guitar will only fit by crushing the foam at the top of the case to gain an extra .125" or so, which compresses very easily. Besides the incredible strain on the neck, this case offers little protection unless top loaded in a plane. A heavy bag on top of this case would break your guitar. Pass this one by. Spend the extra money and go Anvil or something else more tried and true. I wish I had
