Only the second time I've ordered from Musicians Friend but, the service has been great so far. I chose the free shipping and received my order in only 4 days! Case was double boxed and in a plastic bag. It could not have been packaged better. I also own a Roadrunner hardshell case and the Gator case is slightly better in overall quality - especioally the latches. When I put my LP in the case, I think I heard it say "Ahhhhhh"! Very nice fit and if I were a Les Paul, this case is where I would want to be. I will probably buy more gear from Gator and for sure from Musicians Friend. Just wish Gator would bring their manufacturing back to the USA.

Bought a new/old stock 2008 epiphone les paul gothic. Case fits the guitar perfectly... no movement when placed in the case. Neck is supported great. Storage compartment is alittle small....but how big does it really need to be? Excellent product. Nice crushed velvet lining. Secure locks.

I chose to purchase a Gator ATA Les Paul case for because of their design, features, building materials and overall quality. One simple (yet smart) Gator feature is the small circular cutout within the crushed velvet interior lining of the top lid that allows for safe closure over the Gibson pickup toggle switch. The case latches operate smoothly when opening and closing and the carry handle is very ergonomic, My Les Paul Custom fits perfectly within this Gator ATA case and feels quite balanced when being carried around for extended periods of time. It's a great case and I just recommended to a drummer friend to check out the Gator cases for his drum kit.
I received this case as a gift (as well as the Epiphone Les Paul Guitar) and instantly realized this was a valuable asset for traveling with my guitar. The handle is comfortable to grip and with the contrasting red insert it's easy to spot amongst other guitar cases. The fit for my guitar is perfect. The only thing to keep in mind is that the locking system takes a while to get used to - it's not as easy to open as other case -it's a two-step opening process. What I found as the best way to open it is to (part 1) first unlock all the latches first then (part two) grab the bottom and the second to bottom latches simultaneously and pull then back slightly to clear the lock. Maybe it's just my case that works this way but like I said, it takes a while to find the best way to open the case. Also, I usually just completely lay down the case before opening it. It's a lot of work, and sometimes frustrating, to try and open it in an upright position.
For musicians who "check-in" their guitars at airports, I recommend this case.
It's very well made, durable, and feels solid. Last night while setting-up for a performance one of the other musicians accidently bumped into it with a P.A. monitor while the guitar case was in a standing position (did I forget to mention that it easily stands upright on its own) and the next thing I heard was a dull thump. I looked in the direction of the thump and there was my case lying on its back. After a quick apology I walked over and unlatched the locks, opened it up to check my guitar and there it was ... smiling at me (yes, it's a family member now) unharmed and sleeping comfortable in its cradling nest.
It was a gift! How much better value can that be!

Great case. This thing fits my LP Black Beauty snugly, and i'm at ease knowing it's safe and protected. This case has a great weight ratio, and the handle is VERY sturdy. This is the case you want to protect your investment. Band stencils go on and stay, and a nice interior adds mojo to it. The exterior seems very strong, and I have yet to harm it in any form it cannot withstand. The locks take time to get used to, but I highly recommend this case!
