I am the type of bassist that uses a four and five string at shows and i didn't like to carry two cases everywhere I go. This gig bag is convenient and genius and has a very large pocket on it for holding my extra strings and a couple of pedals. Very good and a must have to me.
I am a bass player and bought one of the Gator GuitarSlinger bags. I liked it so much that I bought another that holds two basses at once. The bags are heavy-duty and comfortable. Mostly, I feel confident to carry my prized possessions. I 'd have preferred a gusset or cargo pocket, but I'm willing to cope without that. The surprise has to do with what I call "catch a falling bass". The single over-the-shoulder strap has a 2.5" quick-release buckle. Honestly, I'm not sure why it's needed. I'm a big guy and slinging the bag over my shoulder has never been a problem. The problem is what happened when the buckle got bumped by my car door as I was getting in. In short, the quick-release buckle lived up to its name. It wasn't too much of a problem, I caught it and never gave it a second thought. Then I bought the dual gigbag. The same phenomenon happened when I was also carrying my laptop bag over my shoulder. Let's just say that two basses are a bit harder to catch. I chose to remedy the situation by lacing the buckles closed with 6" plastic zip ties. All-in-all, I think that these are the best gigbags available at a comparable price point.
I had one of these bags about 6 months and it has split at the seams on the bottom..The carrying strap should be one piece because if you put any weight at all on the strap it comes apart and guess what falls to the ground..I will not buy another gator double gig bag..You get what you pay for
