I ordered this case for my EPI Dot and, I couldn't be more satisfied. Perfect fit, solidly built, Great price. The EPI case is good too I just preferr a hard shell case. The covering on the EPI case is a tolex type covering that scuffs and tears as compared to a hard shell that will not do this. It's really a matter of preference not too much price difference but, I went with this case and, I'm glad I did.

For a guitar that fits 100%, I imagine this guitar case is awesome - as it seems very well made and would do the primary job of protecting your instrument while moving it. However the Taylor T5 semi-hollow guitar doesn't quite fit securely. Why? The holder box, where one can store extra strings, picks, capos, etc, which is mid-way of the neck area, seems to be one or so inches too high, therefore, my T5 rests on the back edge of my guitar and then gets pushed up by the holder box such that the entire back of my guitar doesn't rest firmly on the padding. Bummer.

DOES NOT FIT AN EPIPHONE SHERATON!

Comments about Gator GC-335 ATA-Style Guitar Case:

This is an excellent and very lightweight sturdy case but if you own a Sheraton guitar do not be fooled by the terms '335' as the headstock of a Sheraton will stick out about half an inch in this case.If you need a sturdy ATA Case the only one I've found after trying 5 cases on this guitar that will fit an Epiphone Sheraton nicely is the SKB 1SKB-35 Thin Body Semi-Hollow Guitar Case. If you buy a Sheraton buy it with it's original case or the SKB for ATA.

great case

Comments about Gator GC-335 ATA-Style Guitar Case:

My wife bought me a Schecter Corsair 12 string for Christmas and because of the size of the head stock I had a hard time finding a case but this one fit the bill perfect.
It's a case enough said.
Built tuff but still light weight.
Worth every penny.

LOVE it, but it doesn't fit an Epiphone ES-335 Pro

Pros

  • Good Quality

Cons

  • Too deep for thinner ES-335 guitars

Best Uses

  • Solid storage and transport

Comments about Gator GC-335 ATA-Style Guitar Case:

This is a great case, but my Epiphone ES-335 Pro is a thinner ES-335. The body cavity of the case is too deep for the thinner body, and the guitar therefore sits at an angle in the case overall. Not good for the neck, and closing the case will put pressure on the neck that can't be healthy for the guitar.

I thought about returning the case, buuuuuuuuuut ... I LIKE it a lot.

Sooooooo .... I supplemented the case with a closed-cell foam piece cut to match the case contours. I wrapped it in a couple of layers of t-shirt material. This insert levels the guitar in the case, and the neck now sits level on the supports.

A MacGyver move, for sure, but I really like the rest of the features in this case. I would give it SIX stars if it fit, but 4 is the best I can muster under the circumstances.

Comments about Gator GC-335 ATA-Style Guitar Case:

Decent case for the money. My Schecter Corsair fits OK, but had to push down/or work the foam under the neck support close to the body a little with my fingers. This helped the neck lay flat against both neck supports. Also laid a small towel I use to wipe off my Guitar after playing under the body towards bottom of case. And fits perfect! Hope this helps.

Schecter uses this design for the customized case on their Corsair guitars. Its really tough and protects the guitar really well. Its a bit heavier than my HSC for my acoustics but its worth the protection.

Nice case, but doesn't fit my 335.

    By Moe the Rooster

    from Winston-Salem, NC

Comments about Gator GC-335 ATA-Style Guitar Case:

Bought the GC-335 ATA case for my 1968 Gibson ES-335. Unfortunately it didn't fit properly. There are two cradle points for the neck, one at the top and one at the bottom. The bottom cradle was too high, preventing the top of the neck from making contact with the upper cradle. The top of the neck was completely unsupported and hovering about an inch above the cradle.Otherwise it's a nice case for the money if it fits your guitar. I don't know if mine was defective or if they're all made the same way. Problem is, you won't know until you buy one, and then you're stuck for return shipping if it doesn't fit. I'm not real happy about that!

Comments about Gator GC-335 ATA-Style Guitar Case:

I remember needing to purchase a replacement hard-shell case for my Epiphone Les Paul Signature semi-hollow electric guitar. I decided to choose one that was suitable for taking on an airplane, and this one happened to be it. I was so happy when I noticed that my guitar did not wiggle around inside this case, nor did it get scuffed up from picking up and putting down the case periodically. I definitely recommend this case for anybody who has an ES-335 style guitar and wants to provide the best protection possible whilst traveling.

Because it was an open box special, the price was superb! My "Kit 335" is REALLY thin, so the neck sits up an an angle. I'll simply modify the case by adding padding underneath the body to raise it up. For the price I paid, it's well worth the extra time with the modification. Length and width are fine.

Comments about Gator GC-335 ATA-Style Guitar Case:

Over all the case is worth the price. The padding has and cloth are fitted very well and so far the case appears to be very sturdy. Latches work and snap in place easily. The only note might be that the neck support near the guitar body appears to be a little high and might put a little pressure on the tuner head. I put a towel in the lower part of the case near the bottom of the guitar and lifted the bottom part of the guitar so it fits more level in the case. A more experienced guitarist might not see this as an issue, although I didn't want to take a chance.

Comments about Gator GC-335 ATA-Style Guitar Case:

I built a 335 kit guitar from China. This case fits the perimeter perfectly. However, the guitar has such a slim profile that I'll have to add padding to the bottom of the case in order to take strain off the neck. Because this was a return, the price was too good to pass up and I have NO REGRETS for having to add the padding.

I received it a few days ago, and it's not the hardest of hard shell cases. And the lock is very inexpensive. But if just want to store your guitar in a case for a ride to the country it's fine. Definitely would not use it for air travel.

Well built plastic case. High padding wedge under the heel while no similar padding under the end pin resulted in the the headstock sitting too high. .rolling up some bubble wrap under the bottom solved the problem by reducing the tilt. I checked the fit and now the lid closes properly and the guitar is protected.
