The GKPE-88-TSA keyboard case is an ATA (airliner approved), molded polyethylene case with TSA latches and wheels that’s made for 88-key keyboards. Its nearly indestructible polyethylene construction and its unique wedge-and-block design for interior customizing give it the security and level-of-protection you’re seeking while traveling with your precious keyboard. It features four fixed hinges; two TSA-locking latches with impact-diversion dishes; two rubber-gripped handles with a 130-pound weight capacity; and recessed, 200-pound weight capacity, in-line wheels. A solid aluminum valance and a black, powder-coated finish give it a professional look.

Specifically the case works well for my Yamaha DGX-640. There are many options for securing the keyboard with velcro pads and spacers. The case is nice and solid without being as heavy and cumbersome as the keyboard itself.

I could have gotten a hard sided road case custom made for less than this, but this case was about 40% lighter. When you consider that the Motif ES8 with 88 weighted hammer-action keys weighs in at 63 lbs, adding more weight is not desirable. I believe that keyboard and case combined come in at a whopping 95 lbs, which makes me very thankful for the built in wheels.
The handle seems sturdy enough. I've seen poor reviews regarding the handles, but I believe they were for the previous model case (handle has been redesigned). I can carry my behemoth of a keyboard with just the one side handle without it breaking or appearing that it will do so in the future.
I've owned other Gator cases for rack units and they are all built with quality. This is no exception.
Most of the modular padding had to be discarded to allow the Motif to fit inside. With the Motif in it there is about 1 in of space at one end left for you to store the power cord and to get your fingers under for removal of the keyboard. No other accessories will fit inside without rattling against the keys, so I have to carry my pedals and other cables separately. Not a big deal since the thing weighs so much already.
I have already witnessed the protection from this case. The first time I used it I made the mistake of trying to let the case free stand on its end for just a moment while I moved something out of the way. BIG mistake. The case fell over of course and right onto what would be the face of the keyboard. However the keyboard is unscathed from its fall.
This case is sturdy from top to bottom as well. I used ratchet straps to tie this case to the roof rack on my car and it showed no signs of collapsing under the pressure. It travelled fine up there for 60 highway miles (no rain).

Big keyboards are a pain to travel with, but an addiction to a full 88 keyboard necessitates it. I have used many different cases for keyboards over the years - the criteria is always a mix of price, protection, durability, size and weight. This case fits my needs in transporting my Yam Motif 8 very well because it represents a good mix of that criteria. It provides adequate protection and a great fit for my keys, appears to be well constructed and durable, without being so heavy I can't easily handle it myself. And thanks to a great special and promo duo by MF, this case was priced less than lower quality cases from other sources. Good warranty.

There are a few concerns when considering a readymade keyboard case; protection, fit and security. Thirty minutes after opening the box, I think the best overall was achieved.Reading the case description you will find that its construction has good overall PROTECTION, in fact it is very good and well thought out in a weight to protection ratio. As for FIT, the included block-pads with Velcro were enough to custom fit my Yamaha S90-ES 88 perfectly after adding one small 1/2x3x10 inch pad. The case has 3-handles, one centered for balance and has very good end-wheels.Lastly SECURITY, this is an ATA, TSA compliant case with three key latch-locks.If I were to go total gonzo in protection, it would be an Anvil watertight case.
