Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case for 6 to 12-String Guitars:
What a disappointment! Before purchasing this gig bag for my husband who is a professional musician, I contacted customer service and explained the exact model 12 string guitar that I needed a case for. I asked because the guitar is an Ovation Applause and I was concerned about the round back. I was given two choices of bags that customer service said would fit. I chose this one and guess what? The guitar didn't even come close to fitting. The length was fine, but the depth was not even close. I had to return the item which was disappointing since it was a birthday gift. If the guitar had fit like customer service said it would, I would probably give it 5 stars. It was a nice quality bag. I wish the customer service staff had more training on the products.

Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case for 6 to 12-String Guitars:
I ordered this to fit an Epiphone 6 sting acoustic as they have slighty longer headstocks than most 6 string guitars. It did not fit, even though my guitar was 43 inches long. I have the 6 string version of this case already and it fits my Taylor 816ce perfect. The specs listed are 43 inches inside length. But..this case is not a true 43 inches inside. There is a 3/4 inch deep cut out at the lower bout for a strap button, but the actual inside length is barley 42 inches from headstock tip to bottom of lower bout. I really don't see how this would fit any 12 string either ? The outside is barley 1/4 longer than the std version of this case, and the inside length is about a 1/2 longer. Other than that, it is a very nice case. If Gator would make one with 43 inches of usable inside length, I would buy one.

Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case for 6 to 12-String Guitars:
Bought this for my Ibanez AK-95 archtop, which is about the size of a ES-175.It isn't a perfect fit since the case is slightly bigger than my guitar, but it's a huge improvement over the padded gigbag I replaced. This case offers the protection of a hard case with the backpacking ability of a gigbag.I play a lot of jobs where I have to schlep my gear from the loading dock to the hotel ballroom,so anything that makes my carry a bit lighter is really important. For a bit more money than a decent gigbag, but less cash and weight than a hard case, you can get some reasonable protection for your axe.I don't know if even the goons at the airlines could destroy this,it's pretty tough.

SUPER pleased with my purchase!!!
This is the best protective case out there! Fits guitar like a glove. Great "backpack" feature makes carrying even easier!
Super nice lining with rugged exterior. Nice sturdy zippers and straps!
Best value around...many "like" cases sell for more.
Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case for 6 to 12-String Guitars:
Overall, I rate this better because of it's best use: this is the only hybrid case on the market which will fit a Yamaha FG-series 12-string [such as the FG720S-12--which is the guitar I purchased this for]. The Yamaha FG series has a wider lower bout than the standard dreadnought guitar. While the Wolfpak will accommodate the wider bout, it will not accommodate the overall length due to the elongated headstock of the 12-string.
This will accommodate any dreadnought guitar up to 43" long.with a lower bout of up to 16.5" wide.
For me, the platinum standard for comparison of hybrid cases is the Wolfpak case. In comparison to the Wolfpak, the Gator falls short--having only two outside storage pockets compared to the Wolfpak's 4. The Gator does not contain a built-in hygrometer like the Wolfpak. In addition, the Wolfpak has very comfortable, padded shoulder straps, which can be folded into a zipper pouch in the back. The straps on the Gator case are 1-1/2" wide web straps with some rubberized pads that detach from D-rings and must be stored in the pouch in front [leaving less room for other items].
Again, the quality is only average. Using the Wolfpak as the standard. The Wolfpak has a 1200-denier nylon exterior, while this one has only a 600-denier exterior. While this may not seem like much of a difference, the difference becomes evident if you are moving your instrument in wet weather. 600-denier nylon is simply not as efficient in repelling moisture as 1200-denier nylon.
I give this a slightly higher rating because it is less expensive than comparable cases from SKB, Kaces, and Wolfpak.
Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case for 6 to 12-String Guitars:
I've only had this case for a couple of weeks and I reallly like it. An interior that resembles a hardshell and a gig bag exterior. Slightly more bulky than a gig, but definitely worth the money. Lots of zippered pockets. If it holds up well, my ratings will go up to a 10.
Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case for 6 to 12-String Guitars:
As far as cases go, I will look at this brand case if and when I have to replace cases or buy more instruments
The case has a nice zipper opening with a velcro cover to protect the area under the handle. It seems to be padded well and my new 12 string fits perfectly. I decided to try this case rather than a hardshell case like I have on my other guitars to see if I liked it. It has passed the test! It is lighter than a hardshell case and easier to carry.
Quality is top Notch! No imperfections have been found on the case
great value for the money - Well worth it!
Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case for 6 to 12-String Guitars:
So there are a few reasons that this is a pretty nice case. Reason One: being that it fits my awkward sized Fender CD100-12, (Which has been a difficult quest for economic cases.) Reason 2: The many pockets and nooks on this case is pretty nice. The Con is the price tag is a little unfair. The Six-String version of this same case is slightly cheaper, and all they did to modify it was cut out some of the foam from the other case. Its nice, its plenty sturdy, do your 12 string a favor and getem' this case.
