I LOVE this case. I bought one about 5 years ago in a now obsolete desert camo pattern (marked down for less than half the current price on clearance!) and I've hauled my Gibson Songbird all over the country in it. The rugged Cordura cover has held up nicely, and you can easily get cords, books, etc into the outside pockets. The case is light enough to easy lift into an airplane overhead and more than sturdy enough to withstand briefcases and other items being tossed on top of it.

I have to say that military camo pattern is a HUGE hit with TSA agents. Even when I've forgotten to take the battery out of my pickup before X-ray, they're usually so busy chatting me up about the case they don't give me much grief about it.

I'm looking at buying the black classical model of this same case now for a parlor guitar I just bought. Highly recommended!!

I ordered this to fit an Epiphone 6 sting acoustic as they have slighty longer headstocks than most 6 string guitars. It did not fit, even though my guitar was 43 inches long. I have the 6 string version of this case already and it fits my Taylor 816ce perfect. The specs listed are 43 inches inside length. But..this case is not a true 43 inches inside. There is a 3/4 inch deep cut out at the lower bout for a strap button, but the actual inside length is barley 42 inches from headstock tip to bottom of lower bout. I really don't see how this would fit any 12 string either ? The outside is barley 1/4 longer than the std version of this case, and the inside length is about a 1/2 longer. Other than that, it is a very nice case. If Gator would make one with 43 inches of usable inside length, I would buy one.

Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case:

Let me first say I bought this case and was very impressed with the case quality, unfortunately I was very disappointed in the fit with my Martin D-18 guitar. Even though Gator advertises this case as fitting a Martin dreadnought guitar, IT DOES NOT FIT. The case is too shallow and will not close comfortably without adding a great deal of pressure to the top of the guitar, never a good thing! I would always recommend trying one of these cases with your guitar, at the store, before purchasing one.

So easy to haul my guitar with this bag vs the hard case. It's lightweight, fur lined and offers great protection for my Martin. Love using the backpack straps.

Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case:

Overall, I rate this better because of it's best use: this is the only hybrid case on the market which will fit a Yamaha FG-series 12-string [such as the FG720S-12--which is the guitar I purchased this for]. The Yamaha FG series has a wider lower bout than the standard dreadnought guitar. While the Wolfpak will accommodate the wider bout, it will not accommodate the overall length due to the elongated headstock of the 12-string.
This will accommodate any dreadnought guitar up to 43" long.with a lower bout of up to 16.5" wide.
For me, the platinum standard for comparison of hybrid cases is the Wolfpak case. In comparison to the Wolfpak, the Gator falls short--having only two outside storage pockets compared to the Wolfpak's 4. The Gator does not contain a built-in hygrometer like the Wolfpak. In addition, the Wolfpak has very comfortable, padded shoulder straps, which can be folded into a zipper pouch in the back. The straps on the Gator case are 1-1/2" wide web straps with some rubberized pads that detach from D-rings and must be stored in the pouch in front [leaving less room for other items].
Again, the quality is only average. Using the Wolfpak as the standard. The Wolfpak has a 1200-denier nylon exterior, while this one has only a 600-denier exterior. While this may not seem like much of a difference, the difference becomes evident if you are moving your instrument in wet weather. 600-denier nylon is simply not as efficient in repelling moisture as 1200-denier nylon.
I give this a slightly higher rating because it is less expensive than comparable cases from SKB, Kaces, and Wolfpak.

Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case:

I bought this to replace a gig bag that did not provide a good fit for my 12-string. The only drawback to this are the straps which are nylon webbing with no real shoulder padding to speak of. Gator should replace the strap design on this with the same style straps they use on their "transit" series of gig bags.

Best combo of light case with string inside case with alot of pockets. It's a steal in price because it 2015 or 2014 model, but it's a case not much needs to change over the years.

Comments about Gator GL-Dread-12 Lightweight Dreadnought Guitar Case:

Bought this for my son to use with his Alvarez Artist Series. He's had a Gator case like this for about eight years that he uses with his other guitar and loves it. The case is strong, lightweight, and holds up very well. One thing, if you are buying this for a 12 string get measurements first.
