Comments about Gator GM-15 ATA Case for 15 Microphones:

This is perfect for us Weekend Musicians. Adds security for mics without carring a bulky Road Case. I'd reccomend this case to anybody looking for protection on a budget!

Bad Case, Poor Consturction, Cheap Material: Buy SKB instead

Comments about Gator GM-15 ATA Case for 15 Microphones:

Overall - I'm disappointed with the production and hope to return it.
I'm not very happy with Gator's workmanship and quality control. This is the 2nd time and last time I will be buying a Gator case: I am going SKB!
There are no specific features that i found will design, but a lot of other issues.
The foam inside the case came apart after few weeks usage - It was poorly glued together. The foam where you place the microphones are properly designed. If you have only Shure SM58 Mic, maybe this would work for you, but the Shure Beta 87s, SM86 and other microphone do not fit well - they stick out. As a result, there is very little protection offered to the Mics if the case is open - which is very likely.
I wanted to reference other Gator cases, because I wish someone had told me their experience. It is relevant, because it seems the company is probably cutting corners and resorting to 'cheap manufacturing' to save $$$, and this compromise the product.
I have other Gator Case, such as the 4U Pro Series, and although it says PRO, it is poorly manufactured. The strip where you screw on the equipment is glued: I was shocked when the strip fell out. I called their support to have it replaced, but they were not very responsible...after several emails...i gave up and eat the lost.
There are parts on the cast that is flimsy: poorly constructed - with cheap material - 'MADE IN CHINA" is not worth the $$$. The case looks like a knock-off case made in China. The only thing that is good about the case is that the logo is securely attached.
SKB makes a better case for the money. I can say that if you're not happy with a product, It really don't matter how much or how little it cost: If you're unhappy with the product, there is no value to it.

          Gator GM-15 Case

Comments about Gator GM-15 ATA Case for 15 Microphones:

Musician's Friend had a great price on this item plus I purchased it around Christmas time to they offered a sweet coupon besides.
I recently purchased the Gator GM-15 ATA Case for microphones and I am impressed at the wonderful workmanship. It is a solid built case that holds up to 15 microphones and has a side that holds mic cables and misc.
I am glad I purchased it. It will keep my mics in top shape when they are being transported.

          Overpriced

Comments about Gator GM-15 ATA Case for 15 Microphones:

I've had one of these cases for about a year. I've been using it to store my SM57's, 58's and other various mics that could fit in the conical shape cut outs as well as cables. The case hasn't had very much use; it never left my studio. About two months ago, one of the latches became loose. It hasn't broken yet, but it doesn't apply very much force and becomes easily unlatched. The main reason I don't like this case is because of the limited cutout shape. I can't put odd shaped mics in the case (i.e. SM7B, Beta 52's, SM81's, etc). Because of this I recently purchased a couple of photography/video cases with diced foam. With the diced foam, you can create custom shapes to fit individual mics. Fits my mics perfectly. Another upside, one case that is about twice the size as this case (and fits SM58's upright), is $10 less than the Gator case. Pretty much a no-brainer to me. Look up Vanguard.

Comments about Gator GM-15 ATA Case for 15 Microphones:

This case is deceptively large (for me anyways). I am able to carry all sm57s, sm58s, plus overheads for drums, as well as more cables then mic's for backup. Plus, I fit my PA system cables in there as well as the mic holders for the stands. Plus, its a sturdy, tough case for protection in the back of the truck. Can't complain about that.

          Not SKB but good

          By Nick-V-v3e

Comments about Gator GM-15 ATA Case for 15 Microphones:

Not a bad case, but I have owned the skb 12 mic case. The skb was higher quality with the seals, plastic and latches. Latches on the gator seem to work well, but are a pain to release from the clip. I purchased the gator case because it was smaller. Inside the gator case was easier to put in vocal wired mics because the head sticks above the foam, where on the skb it sunk into the foam and also fit wireless mics. The gator let me down when I used it to hold my instrument mics (sm57) they were just loose in there and did not have any good seal with the foam. This was similar for the 57 beta as well. The side opening on the gator is good for holding the wireless mics. The gator case is not a bad case; it just is not as supportive as the skb, unless you have 15 sm58 to put in them.

Smaller than the SKB - holds 3 more mics

          By Anonymous

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Gator GM-15 ATA Case for 15 Microphones:

I used my old SKB for about 15 years and it was falling apart. The Gator GM-15 mic case is smaller and holds 3 more mics. The Gator is also the new kid on the block so it's a bit cheaper than the SKB. The foam appears to be a bit different and will hopefully hold up longer than the SKB which is the typical soft foam that wears out quickly. I found the upper area of the SKB useless so it was just wasted space. It's way too soon to tell if this thing will really hold up but it probably will and I like the brand name and the fact that they are made near me in Tampa.

          Perfect for drummers

Comments about Gator GM-15 ATA Case for 15 Microphones:

As a drummer who plays a large set and also sings, this is a great find. Mics are kept seperate and secure and there is room for the cables as well. I must say that after gigging for over 20 years, this is one of my favorite cases. Excellent product!!!
