Has Held Up Well

By Anonymous

Comments about Gator GRR-8L ATA-Style Deluxe Rack Case:

We use this rack to house a power conditioner, eq, and CD recorder for our high school's band. Over the year that we've had it it has held up great and the wheels and handle make moving this thing long distances a breeze. It is sturdy and deep enough to hold all our gear without a problem. I would reccomend this to anyone looking for something to hold their gear and is in need of something mobile.

Average at Best

Comments about Gator GRR-8L ATA-Style Deluxe Rack Case:

I own one of these racks and if you plan to mount more than one single amp in the unit I would not recommend buying it. The handle can't withstand much weight when you pull on it , it will come right off the braces that telescope out of the back of the rack. They need to reinforce the handle that pulls out of the back. The lids are a bit awkward to get on and off as well due to the locking mechanism. Spend a bit more and get one of better quality - just my opinion

Good Case - a Little High Priced for the Quality

By SoundMan2001

Comments about Gator GRR-8L ATA-Style Deluxe Rack Case:

Unit worked well and held the amps, etc. we put in it without a problem. A little hard to manipulate the covers and set up - one latch broke off early on with average use.

Mediocre; You Get What You Pay For

Comments about Gator GRR-8L ATA-Style Deluxe Rack Case:

This rack does what it's supposed to do: provide a place to mount your gear and roll on it's wheels. However, the rack was not that well designed. When you lay it down so that the items in the rack are parallel to the ground, the wheels make it lie on an angle because the wheels are only support on the bottom. And the top seems to be suspect as far as strength. It bends and flexes a little too easily. I would rather have gotten a rack with true casters on the bottom.

    Best Uses

Comments about Gator GRR-8L ATA-Style Deluxe Rack Case:

The GRR series is a fine light-medium duty rack for regional use. The casters and extension handle simplifies trips between vehicle and stage, and can be useful for stacking a few light items on top. It's made for light weight with a relative strength suitable for regional use - better than cloth racks, but not as good as touring grade racks. I would not load it with heavy power amps, and check it on a plane as a better-than-nothing last resort.

Good Idea - Need More Beef

Comments about Gator GRR-8L ATA-Style Deluxe Rack Case:

We bought a few of these for our rack gear on stage and loved the portability, etc. The cases could be a bit more hoss in construction. But, overall they are working and despite being banged around on the road now for a couple of months they're all hanging in there. Figure they'll last about a year with professional road use (but put them at the top of the stack in the 18 wheeler, not the bottom - they cannot support weight on top...
