Decent Case, Good For Storing

I bought this case for a LP Studio and the fit is excellent. I would rate the protection as adequate. I don't ever plan to travel with this case, so it suits my needs just fine. Many reviews talk about loose latches. I found them to be fine. The only issue I have is when you close the top, the bottom curve is slightly mis-aligned, so you have to give it a little nudge. Once it is aligned it is fine. The interior magenta is good looking and the shroud fits properly. Overall, I like the case very much, BUT if I were a working musician and travelling with my guitar, I would opt for something more protective.

This is a good case as long as these issues don't concern you:
1. My Gibson LP slides around inside the case. I find this surprising as this is a repro Lifton case. To secure the guitar inside the case, you have to pack it out with t-shirts or towels. Huh?
2. The latches feel flimsy. I'm not sure how much abuse these could withstand. I have an ESP case for a different guitar, and the latches on that are solid as are the latches on my OEM Gibson case.
I think that Gator have sized this case to accommodate a bunch of different guitars, like Epiphone LPs and other single cutaway guitars. This makes sense for Gator but not for Gibson LP customers.
The color is attractive. The pink interior is wild. The plywood feels solid. The tolex is well applied.
In the end, I've kept the case as I only need it to transport my LP around in my car. I wouldn't be happy using this as a touring case. This really is a poseur's case. :)

I was surprised at the low quality of the case. I received the first one and it had a tear on the end of it. Musicians Friend was very good at returning and sending a new one. However the second one came with more tears than the first. Also the material inside isn't place well and the locks are very low quality. Musicians Friend set up the return of second and I switched brands.

I bought this case for my Epi '56 edition Gold Top Les Paul. The guitar barely fits because the Epiphone headstock is so long. The case looks really nice, but the quality is just OK. On the positive side, the internal compartment is pretty good size. The padding on the inside under the guitar is a bit better than that of the Epiphone case and the exterior of the case looks well made. On the negative side, the latches are really cheap... Really cheap! The Pink interior may not be to everyone's taste, but it does capture the vintage look that Gator was going for. Overall, the case does look cool! I have several Epiphone guitars and the epiphone cases and I thought this time I'd try something different. Next time I'll probably go with the Epiphone case, you can't beat them for the money. If you want a nice looking case and the loose, rattling latches don't bother you, this case is great. If you want something to bang around at gigs that fits your guitar right, save the thirty bucks and get the Epiphone case!

I just bought this case. I got to look at it before X-mas and its amazing! Snug Epi LP Custom inside it. Only bad thing is PINK PINK PINK! Its because the old Gibson cases used to be pink so Gator lived on the tradition!

Its a nice case, i have an epiphone elitist les paul custom in mine, the only reason i gave it a 7 in quality is because my LP slids around inside so i have to put foam rubber to keep it in place, but thats not that big of a deal, so yea its a good case

It's about as close as you'll get to the Lifton-style LP case: tan exterior ? magenta plush interior. It's got four latches that seem a tad loose, but the overall quality is high. For the price and looks, you can't beat it. Mine's protecting my R7 Les Paul as we speak...

Great Case. I put my Brian Moore i21.13 in it, so it's not as snug as I would like it to be. But put either a Gibson or Epiphone LP in this thing and you're good to go. Nice plush (it's not as pink as the picture makes it seem). I gave the features a 9 because the satin cover is pretty PINK... Not my taste...
