This Gator Case has some good qualities. It's a good size to fit nearly all 12 string guitars...with the possible exception that a Jumbo sized body would not fit. The upper end of the case is plenty long enough to fit the extra length head stocks commonly seen on 12 string guitars.

Concert sized 12 strings...which are common...have a little bit too much wiggle room and you'll need to pad the sides a little if you want a to keep your concert from moving around inside the case.

A Dreadnaught body would fit just about right, which is what Gator says.

The interior of the case is soft and covered with
a furry fabric--but it's not especially padded, so you'll want to have a good snug fit or your guitar will bang around some in the case.

The interior "cubby hole" is a bit smaller than I would have liked. You can store a couple sets of strings, a neck wrench and a capo in it...but I'm pretty sure most guitar straps wouldn't fit. In addition, the hinge on the cubby hole cover is just flimsy fabric so don't expect a lot of strength if you try to jam extra do-dads in to the cubby.

On the plus side the gator case appears to be strong and very sturdy. You could probably step on the thing and it would hold up and not crush your guitar. But the snap locks are of marginal quality and don't line up perfectly...at least on my case. They work fine if you wiggle the top a bit to the side to get them to line up. This isn't a big deal....but it would be nice if they lined up just right each time you closed the case.

Perhaps I'm being a bit picky, but the cases that came with my Breedlove Guitars for instance are twice the quality of this Gator case...however, also more than twice the cost if you tried to buy them separately.

So what's the bottom line? Well, this Gator case is a decent case and a good value for it's cost. Just don't think it will compare to the factory case that comes with your better quality Breedlove, Martin or Taylor, because it won't. But for the money it's not a bad buy.

Obviously, I do not rate this case very highly.
As noted, it lacks storage capacity for accessories except for the minimum. So if you buy this case for your instrument, count on having to carry a separate case for things like a tuner, spare picks, music, guitar polish, string cleaner.
In addition, the quality of construction is very poor. Due to excessive humidity here in the midwest, the plies are beginning to separate and warp. Showing the materials used by gator to manufacture this case are not high quality. I had a hardshell (plywood construction) case from another manufacturer for another guitar that never wore out in the 10 years I owned it. I've had this one for less than four months and it's falling apart already.
Gator will not honor the warranty--they claim that because the case is falling apart due to the extreme humidity we have experienced this spring in the midwest and it is not a manufacturing defect.
So I have to buy a new case to replace one that was purchased new less than six months ago.
You can bet a year's income I will never be purchasing another product made by gator.
It lacks storage space for accessories. by the time you put a capo and a spare set of strings in the little compartment--it's full.
The quality is poor. The product description claims that it is constructed from 5-ply plywood. That is not true. The construction is 3-ply to reduce the weight and the core wood is something called "luan," which, according to woodworking manuals, is a very cheap grade of mahogany grown in the Philippines which has about as much durability as balsa wood. Unless epoxied and sealed, the plies can separate and warp.
Given the lack of features and poor quality of construction, this is a terrible value for the money.

I bought this for my Epiphone 12 string and it fits it to the tee.

The moment I placed my acoustic in it fit like it was custom made for it.

It is a good case for my Michael Kelly Series 50 12 String Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar. Not a "perfect" fit, but it does the job, and there is only a little bit of slop, and plenty of lining to cushion the guitar.

bought this case as a gift for a friend. i like GATOR products. the case is pretty sturdy and i think it will be good protection for her Martin 12 string. nice semi-plush interior and the latches feel strong and secure.
that said, i wouldn't imagine that it could take much 'on the road' abuse. but, for storing at home, or going around town, not bad at all.

Bought this for my old 12-string. Getting ready to use it more often, and needed some protection. I had an old gig bag, and it was to short for the guitar...very snug! Needed to get something that fits, and this was perfect!

SOMETHING POKED MY CASE PACKAGE AND PUNCHED THROUGH TO THE CASE WHEN SHIPPED TO ME (MY GUESS FROM YEARS AS A FEDEX DRIVER IS THAT IT WAS A POINTY AUTO PART FROM ANOTHER BOX PACKED TOO LIGHTLY). DESPITE BEING STRUCK HARD, IT BARELY EVEN BLEMISHED OR SCRAPED THE TOLEX COVERING, SO I JUST KEPT IT INSTEAD OF SENDING IT BACK. MORAL OF THE STORY: IF IT HAD BEEN MY YAMAHA LL-16 12-STRING, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SAFE FROM A MAJOR HIT! I'M SOLD! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM A CASE??? STORAGE ROOM? PLEASE, JUST CARRY AN EXTRA GEAR PACK!

I found this case to be well made and it feels sturdy. There's heavy stitching along the top and the it clips up smoothly and snug to the bottom. The cover doesn't need to be re-adjusted when you close it...you just clip it up. The inside is thickly padded and fits my Epiphone 12 nicely. I found plenty of room for the accessories that i carry. I've packed 3 boxes of strings, a capo, tuner, and a box of picks inside. (I don't really need to take polish along with me but I could probably also fit a couple of granola bars in there too. ) I looked around before buying and I bought this gator because it was the best case for my money. It holds my 12 string very nicely, it's sturdy, and the hardware is good quality. I'm very happy with my Gator 12. I'd buy another Gator for my Epi Dot.
