Mic cables aren't like guitar cables. So the minute differences between these and much more expensive cables don't make much difference from an audio perspective. I do prefer some of the more high end and expensive cables because they seem to fit a little better and have more strain relief on the plugs but all things considered I refuse to pay more. These cables are indisputably the best value so I'm sticking with them. If I was on the road I might consider other options. But for my home studio they're just fine. I can literally buy a mic with the difference that you pay for more expensive ones. I create my guitar cables myself but don't even try with the mic one's because it would be more expensive for me to buy the parts. I have some Mogami silver and love them too. But even when they're on sale they're several times more expensive. If you have only one mic that you use then I can understand splurging and shelling out some more. I have a couple pair or mics so when I buy these the savings is exponential and truthfully the quality is good and I've grown to like them. The chrome finish on the jacks are nice even though they aren't as smooth as the more expensive one's to fit in and out, but I'm not constantly removing them so that's ok. And I like the rubber on the wires. They don't tangle as much as the more expensive cords but they're nice and durable and when I accidentally roll over them with my chair they're nice thick enough and durable so it's not an issue. You won't go wrong with them and the day you decide you want something else you won't feel bad about donating them or throwing them out.

Purchased two six packs of these mic cables and only three are still functioning. We needed cords that would get us through our performances and hold up to mobility, these have not worked well for us. Several cables cut out in the middle or just minutes before a performance. Most of Musician's Gear is good but save yourself a headache and spend a little extra on some better cables. Your performers and your audience will thank you! FYI, Musician's Friend informed me that cables do not have a warranty.

Connector Screw Missing

Pros

  • Easy To Use
  • Functional

Cons

  • Poor Quality

Best Uses

  • Backup
  • Practicing

Comments about Gear One 20 Ft. XLR Microphone Cable, 3-Pack:

Upon opening, I found that one of the cables had a missing screw on the male connector that made it unusable. After replacing the screw I've had no issues. They work fine, but I wouldn't buy again unless I was desperate for some cheap cables.

Comments about Gear One 20 Ft. XLR Microphone Cable, 3-Pack:

I bought these on SDOD and they all work fine. As to durability/longevity, only time will tell. But I do subscribe to the philosophy that you can't have enough backup cables, etc. These fit the bill nicely.

Comments about Gear One 20 Ft. XLR Microphone Cable, 3-Pack:

I needed a couple of longer cables for drum overheads. These were longer cables. There is no audible increase to the noise floor but I can't speak to their durability. I will eventually get around to building some longer cables and these will serve as backups. But as SDOTD it was hard to resist giving them a shot.

These wires are cheap and there is a good reason for that. I bought 3 sets and most of them didn't work straight off.

Very loose fit into microphones, can't even plug them into the mixer board, because they are too tight. Wish I had never bought them. Might be good jump ropes for the kids. Can't give it any lower than a 1 star, but it should be a nothing.
