        Comments about George L's .155 Cable 50':

If you ever get sick of buying new cables every year, go solderless. I was sent some Bill Lawrence solderless cables by my Uncle many years ago. At first I wasn't sure. They weren't like my other cords. The wire looked too skinny. I set them aside and didn't use them much until one day my guitar cable started crapping out like they all eventually do. I remembered I had the Bill Lawrence's and dug them out of hiding. It was apparent right away that they sounded better than the Fender cable I'd been using. Not only that. Here's the really cool thing. That was around 8 years ago, and I'm still using the same cables fairly heavily with no problems. Due to their solderless construction if the connection ever fails or crackles and pops it's just a matter of tightening a screw and it's good as new! If that fails, go for the wire cutters and remove an inch off the end, reattach the jack, and ouala! Even if you cut the thing in half, you could buy a couple jacks and make two short cables! I want to replace all the cables I need with solderless ones eventually. You can't get the Bill Lawrence's anymore, so I bought a spool of George L's wire and a handful of jacks. Guess what? They sound even better! I expect that they'll last indefinitely as well. They may seem expensive, but when I think of all the crackly broken cables I've owned over the years they're an obvious no-brainer. Another bonus: they take up way less space, which is great for gigging.
