I have owned this cable for four months so far and do not have any complaints about the product. I find myself using it when I have gigs with my bass or my guitar. I do not see me grabbing other cables when I rush out. I have played for well over 40 years and I venture to say that this is the best cable I have played with. One minor complaint is that the cable itself is a bit too stiff and I do not know the effect (long-term) on the guitar terminal/connection. Nevertheless, I intend to buy a couple extras.

I purchased a 10 ft George L cable because I was having a run of new cables shorting out after minimum and mild usage. After some research, George L looked like a viable option. However, the cord began to lose connection and occasionally "pop" or lose volume. I am extremely careful with my musical equipment, so I was very disappointed, especially after reading all of the good reviews around the web. Oddly enough I have found two cable manufacturers that have been very reliable -- Fulltone Gold and at the other end of the spectrum, Musicians Gear. The Fulltone Gold are all that I buy with Musicians Gear as back up.;

Comments about George L's Pre-Made .225 Cable:

Cons-stiff,will not lay. Pros-had a noticeable difference (in a good way)in my tone and clarity. I play with single coil pickups and this cable is quiet! Easy self repair (if ever needed) I have had no problems with mine. This will most likely be my "forever" cable.

AMAZING

Comments about George L's Pre-Made .225 Cable:

Let me just say "Wow." These cables are amazing. They have absolutely no noise, and the low end is amazing. If you play bass, I highly recommend them. I've had them for about 4 months, and the only problem I've had is that they often coil up, but it doesn't bother me much.

Comments about George L's Pre-Made .225 Cable:

I've slowly replaced all cables in my live stage setup with George L's. I never have worry about my cables again.
Flawless. Dependable. Great sounding. Did I mention they were dependable?
Clean sounding with no ambient noise.
It's a value when the product is dependable. This cable will last a lifetime. I've had one of my GL cable for 5 years with zero down time. Not one crackle or pop. I use it all the time time too.

Must have cables

Comments about George L's Pre-Made .225 Cable:

I've tried them all. Been using George L's for some time with both guitar & bass. Great clarity. Absolute tank-like reliability. Easy repair when necessary. .225's much preferable over the .155 if for no other reason than avoiding the kinking & tangling of the little spaghetti cables. They are an essential part of my sound. Like Am Ex, don't leave home without 'em.

cables DO make a difference...

Comments about George L's Pre-Made .225 Cable:

I heard the difference in clarity & detail as soon as I plugged in. This is the best guitar cable I've used & will probably not use any other cable besides George L's from now on. The only downside is they do have a tendency to get tangled more easily than other cables but not too bad, and the tone increase I get makes up for that. The cool thing about George L's is if the ends get damaged, just cut them off & replace with new ones since they're solderless.

        Comments about George L's Pre-Made .225 Cable:

        3 stars is average.

This is possibly the best cable at Musician's Friend for connecting to your passive pickup equipped guitar or bass.

It is sturdy, easy to repair, and is Low Capacitance.

Low *what*? If your guitar/bass does not have an onboard preamp (-> battery compartment), it's likely using a passive pickup …which transmits a very low unbalanced signal over a relatively long distance at high impedance. By the time your signal reaches the amp, it has likely lost a lot of its original signal. As well, the higher capacitance cable "weighs" on the pickups, changing the pickups' frequency response. More capacitance makes the guitar sound "dull". Changing from a high to low capacitance cable of the same length can cause you to reduce the gain, treble, or presence on the amp -- or slightly back off the volume or tone on your guitar to achieve the same balance. A low capacitance cable is far more accurate, and influences the pickups less -- allowing you to hear the instrument more accurately.

A DI or buffer on your belt is superior and ultimately more consistent.

Bumped a star because the cable I received shorted either when it arrived or not long after. The plugs are easy to re-set.

          Comments about George L's Pre-Made .225 Cable:

These cables look great, sound great and last forever. When a connection goes bad, you simply snip the end of the cable, re-set the plug and you are back in business. True story - done it myself. One of the few pieces of musical gear that really made me mad when it was stolen.
