This is the best string cleaner/lubrication product I have ever used. It includes the applicator and a cloth to wipe off the excess oil which both fit in a convienient small plastic tube that can easily fit in a guitar case. It makes your strings last longer by keeping them clean, and also helps to make your strings feel more smooth/slick which makes it easier for me to play. Not only does this product do everything that it claims, but it also lasts a LONG time. I have had the same one that I use 2-4 times a week for over 3 years now! I have to admit it is now finally sort of running out of oil, but holy crap 3 years worth of quality string cleaning/lubrication for six bucks? If that's not a deal then I don't know what is. Anyone who gave this product a negative review is obviously not using it correctly or doesn't like having clean strings/fretboard. Don't hesitate if you are on the fence about buying, this stuff works great and lasts a long time.

it's great, i can't believe how much fluid it can hold. it does leave fuzzballs on it. would i buy it again, probably. all i know it takes a lot less space than most brands that throw in bottles of spray and nowhere to store it. this i keep in my Gator case and you're suppose to apply it before and after. when i first used it, it made my strings feel like silk, i could do solo so fast and easy, i couldn't believe it. the down side is you don't know when it's gonna run out, and when that happens, you gotta wait for another order to get to you. if you do get this product, I'd suggest get two sets. that way you are ready for the next when it goes out, and re-order when you are down to one. it's like buying strings, you don't buy JUST one set and then wait for your order of another to play again.

Comments about GHS Fast-Fret String Cleaner:
Bought this in 2006 and it changed my playing! I can fly on solos and my sound is bright! Best of all, this lasts forever. I'm still on the same stick and it's got about 50 years left of uses (I use it every time I play which is fairly often). I recommend this to any player at any level. You won't regret it.

I've used Fast Fret for the longest time on all my guitars... Each guitar case has at least 2 and not only does it clean the strings, it also conditions the fretboard.

This cleaner was recommended to me by a friend. Not expensive so I am giving it a try. Does the metal container ship sealed? Mine arrived open and was missing the little cloth use to wipe off excess. Did MF send me a used returned product? Yet to see if it cleans and improves sound.

Love these. They last forever, and the strings and fretboard are so much faster. Not too "greasy" of a feel either (like some other products). A must have!

Comments about GHS Fast-Fret String Cleaner:
I have been using Fast Fret for many, many years. I honestly have one that I bought along with a brand new Martin in 1996, and it is finally dryed up too much to squeeze anymore uses out of it.
It works great, is easy to use, the little tube container is handy.
One reviewer stated that the Fast Fret made his strings messy, that it oxidizes the strings. Well, that oxidation is already in your new strings, and probably some lube from the extrusion process.
Anyway, I like it and will continue to use it.
Comments about GHS Fast-Fret String Cleaner:
My poor fretboard, thats the part that bothers me I can change the strings, but now this stuff is in the grain of the rosewood, ebony, pao ferro or what have you, I guess it might not get through the laminated mahogony but you never know...
I have used this product on more than one guitar. My last mistake was putting it on brand new strings. Ill admit the product is easy to use. As far as using it wrong...uhhh its pretty straight forward.
Fastfret builds up or oxidizes on steel guitar strings faster than anything I have ever seen. I dont even want to think about the buildup on my fretboard. What bothers me most is the fact the product builds up on the strings of my electric guitar while the guitar is in its case. I put strings on tuned up fastfretted, jammed, fastfretted, wiped of the greasygoo and put my guitar away. Then I realized the culprit of my string demise. And I thought I forgot to wash my hands or something... Seriously the fastyness turns to rust or whatever overnight, or a disgusting buildup over a matter of a week or more.
Try my test. this stuff creates more work than help. Just put on some brand new strings, and follow the directions, make sure to wipe of the excess, and store your guitar in its case. If possible dont play your guitar for like two or three days, play a different one. Now go open your case for a yucky suprise.
After using the product on more than one guitar, I do not like the feel of the product, immeadiately after applying, then it just gets worse. Also the wiping rag comes apart like toilet paper, small dingleberries remain on the strings and anywhere I wipe the rag. Then the buildup/oxidation begins.
In my opinion you are better of putting your guitar away, full of sweat.
Same as above I do not value the product due to the rapid deterioration of the condition of the guitar strings.
