I put on a pack of GHS Boomers because I heard they were good strings. I use a Fender Stratocaster. The GHS Boomers sound okay the first few hours that are played on them, but when the freshness and nickel of the strings wears off, they sound dead and lifeless. So unless you change your strings after every 5-6 hours of play, I would not recommend these. Go with D'Addario or Ernie Ball electric strings instead.

I look for resonant response, elasticity, and tone when picking strings. It is about the combination of sound and feel that meet your specific picking needs.

I tried these strings for about 3 days and they sound terrible. Even after they are stretched and broken in, they resinate with an awful tinny sound.

I will never again buy ghs. DR all the way.

GBL Boomers work well for me; just put a set on my Strat for an upcoming show. They feel nice and fresh, and have a great sound.

I need guitar strings that don't sound wimpy. When I plug into my amp I need to have a sound with punch and Boomers deliver. And despite it being a light string set, it still delivers where I need it the most. These strings have been a lifesaver for my sound and they were the "missing link" to it.

I will definitely buy these strings again and it will probably be 10 sets of Boomers next time!

Comments about GHS GBL Boomers Light 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

I've spent $70.00 this month buying these from Musicians Friend to convert all my Electrics over to these. I believe these are the best sounding strings I've ever used. I use them on my Jazz guitars to my Jacksons. These really bring out the music from your guitar and make your pick ups sound louder and fuller no matter if you use singles or humbuckers. Great Strings!! I highly reccommend them!
I love these strings. I was a die had fan of another brand for several years. Anyone who tells you strings don't make a difference is an idiot! I've been through several brands and sizes over the last thirty eight years, but hadn't tried these until a friend gave me a set for a new Tele. I liked them so well and found them great for eveything from jazz to mild metal, They are well balanced, can be soft and warm, glassy and articulate to full attitude grind depending on your pick attack. These ar ethe most musical strings I have tried.
                        Well made, fantastic feel
Good price especially from Musicians Friend, Oh ya, I found that buying three individual sets ist cheaper then buying a 3 pk. Don't know why but you save a few cents. Don't let teh negative review on the 3 pk steer you off.

GHS Boomers Strings are Always Awesome.

                        from Arkansas

Comments about GHS GBL Boomers Light 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

Boomers are some of the best strings on the market for daily use. They hold a tune and are fast strings. Easy on the fingers and keep their tonal quality for an extra long time. I've had them on a guitar that was sitting for over a year and they still played awesome, and tuned right up.
I have always used Boomers on my Fender guitars over the past 30 years. They never disappoint. They start out extra bright when new and after a couple of weeks they warm up more to a beautiful tone, and last a long time. I use 10's because I do a lot of string bending, and I haven't broken one yet. The standard pick ups on Fender guitars just like Boomers. They have a great coating on them too.
The clear coating lasts forever and they hold a tune great too. I rarely have to retune aside from the normal tweak now and then from string bending. But they don't break and keep thier smoothness longer than others I have tried.
Boomers are always affordable and reasonably priced, even for the beginner.
