Comments about GHS GBUL Boomers Ultra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

My favorite strings have long been GHS Boomers and for good reason: they play very well, last a long time, and maintain good tone--provided they are wiped down with a soft cloth (e.g., a bandana) soon after each practice or performance session. I generally play GBXL (.009-.42) Boomers as I don't particularly enjoy anything heavier, even for acoustic guitar. I once tried out a set of GHS GB8½ (.0085-.40) Boomers and didn't find anything appreciative about them over the GBXL Boomers. I also tried out a set of GBUL (.008-.38) Boomers which, though lighter than GB8½ Boomers, I realized benefit from on a Carvin AE15 (semi-hollowbody electric guitar with acoustic guitar bridge). While the neck width on the AE185 is a bit thicker than I would like and the fingerboard radius a bit larger than I would like, I found GBUL (.008-.38) Boomers to help out in that regard, requiring less effort to play in compensating for the fatigue resulting from the thicker neck and larger fingerboard radius. After installing a set of GBULs on the Carvin AE185 for performance with a worship team and not wiping the strings down immediately after use, I had expected to change them sooner than later, but as of this review--upwards of 10 months later--still hadn't gotten around to it while the strings have maintained great tone. And whereas the .009 gauge GBXL 1st string would tend to break in the nut after a certain amount of repeated loosening and tightening for playing in alternative tunings, the .008 gauge GBUL 1st string hasn't. GHS are amazing strings. A great value.

    The Don't Get Any Better

    By Micheall

Comments about GHS GBUL Boomers Ultra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

When I first got in the business I tried every string on the market after I found GHS Boomers my search was over. I have used nothing else for over 25 years on numerous Strats, Teles, Les Pauls and I can tell you they don't get any better then GHS Boomers Ultra Lights 8-38. They sound great, hold up well, all at a great price.

The WORST sounding strings I've ever played.

    By Wisdom-ZBuLl

    from Califiornia

Comments about GHS GBUL Boomers Ultra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I have tried every set of .008 strings on the market. These are amongst the worst I've every played. They sound incredibly cheap and tinny when compared, for example, to a Fender or Dean Markley .008 set of strings. You can really "hear" the quality of the materials that a company chooses to use for it's strings, when you buy the .008 sets as they are so thin, that you can really hear if they have been made of bad metals. It is a highly misleading statement for G.H.S. to boast of their making "The highest quality strings" when they sound as bad as the Korean made Music Yo brand strings. I would not put these strings on any of my guitars, even if they were given to me for free.

    Awesome Screaming Electric Guitar Strings

    By Hairmetalfan1

Comments about GHS GBUL Boomers Ultra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Fast playing, ultra light touch, screams like no other stings for those screeching guitar solos! No better stings on the market for my money! If you want to rock out with the likes of Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, etc., these are the strings to do it with. Here's a tip, try a set on your acoustic too!
