GHS begins with the finest of raw materials and then uses a finely regulated coating process called MST (Metal Surface Treatment) to craft Infinity Steel guitar strings. This unique technology coats the outer wires which are then wrapped around a high-quality core wire, maximizing tone and endurance.

I bought a few sets of these at once, to restring all of my guitars. First I tried installing them on my jackson rr3, and they simply do not work with floating tremolo guitars. The saddle stripped the coated part of the strings off of the core wire, this has never happened to me with any other strings. ever. I'm lucky I had an extra set of boomers laying around.I also tried these strings with a hardtail, and had much better results, but still was not impressed. The black finish (which is only on the wound strings) strated coming off withing 30 minutes of playing. The only saving grace of this set of strings is the unwound strings, which are ghs sub zero boomers.Bottom line: if you want to spend too much money on strings, go for a full set of sub zero boomers, theyre not quite worth the price, bet they are better than the infinity steels. However, if you want strings, that sounds great for a long time, and are reliable and balance, go for some standard GHS Boomers.
Only 3 strings were black coated & it took longer than normal to stetch and keep in tune. And they sound terrible.
I have tried all types of coated strings before, But I think GHS has come up with a better string! And the price is much better than most!
I used Elixirs before these strings. I was constantly breaking them. I changed to these about six months ago, and I haven't broken one yet. Great sound, great price, and they look pretty cool too. I suggest you buy them.
Good quality, coated strings for a great price. Great sound, too.
strings have a good tone. good feel, however, when used direct on my digital recorder creates a slight static background.
Great strings, great feel, my 11's bend like 10's. Sound great and look great! I am stickin with these for a while. These are similiar to Elixirs, I guess, but don't feel greasy at all like some Elixirs do. Try a set, you'll be glad you did!!
