These are perhaps the greatest bass strings ever. I first tried these back when I first got my bass and the strings on it were like 10 years old. My dad was the one who first recommended them to me and I haven't used any other type of string since then. Although sometimes I use medium light instead of medium. These strings last many months and the only time I change them is 2 days before a show. Some people said they are to weak for slapping, but unless they're doing it wrong these are great. I love the sound you get after an hour or so of playing. You should always wait a day or so after changing strings to rate them because all string sound weak when you first get them. I love these strings.

I restrung my old SR500 with a set of these, and they were okay. I am VERY glad I had two sets though, the E-string on the first set popped during tune up, and I wasn't even close to tight. So I am knocking their quality because this simply should not happen during install of new strings. They sound WAY too bright for the first couple of hours play time. Just play these things, they even up after a few. Remember your first hour or so you are trying to get the string to settle in... After the first retune they sound great. Especially with my EMGs... Want to try out the DR Black Beauties next, but the GHS sound fine.

Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
great tone, punch, feel and not too bright. I have mainly used stainless steel strings, but since the purchase of a new bass, I immediately noticed the hairline gouges the strings were making on the frets. So, to protect my investment I wanted to switch to nickel strings. These strings are so smooth on the frets and fingers and are very comfortable to play. I do like their sound and growl, but my only complaint is they do not intonate very well and I'm very particular about my set-up and being in tune, so I'll have to pass on GHS in my new quest for a nickel string that works for me.
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
The tone provided by these strings on my Jazz Bass w/ rosewood fingerboard is amazing. Many people may complain that these strings don't stay bright but that's just a matter of taste. These things mellow out nicely for use with any musical style, even more aggressive bass lines can get some real growl with these strings ... EVEN IF THEY DON'T SOUND LIKE TIN ... If you want a real bass sound that compliments the tone of your bass, these are the strings to use.I've run through countless brands of strings and this is the only reliable brand as far as string breakage is concerned.
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
After 22 years of using these strings I cant use them on my Ibanez SR900 bass guitar. Perhaps Nickel strings arent as magnetic as Stainless steel or Alloy strings. Boomers worked nice with my other bass with Active EMG PJ pickups. Love the feel of these strings. Lets justs says these strings arent for every bass! Enough said.
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
When I first got my bass, It had crappy stock SIT's. So soon after, I replaced them with the GHS Bass Boomers. Just stretch them out for a day or two, and you'll have no problems. Pretty well priced, and long lasting. Definitely recommended.
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
Very good strings. I started using these 23 years ago. As far as strings go, I've tried them all, on all sorts of basses. These and the Fender nickle plated 45-105, I have found to be the best IMO.
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
I got these from a local music store and I put them on my bass the day I got the. I play in a post hardcore/emo band and I leave my bass at the drummers house most of the time so I don't play it that much, anyways I probably played the about 10 hour length times and my top string unraveled. They sound amazing but unless your planning to but new ones every two weeks, then don't bother.
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
When I first purchased my Marcus Miller J-Bass, I enjoyed the sound, but there was no growl to my tone whatsoever, I re-strung it with the GHS boomers, and its been smooth sailing all of the way. I run through a GK 700RB-II full stack, and I couldn't be happier with tone I'm getting. Nice growl, but still clear, for me thats perfect. I'll keep coming back for more!
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
I bought these hoping for great sound. At 1st they were super bright, after a little play they went straight to muddy junk. They got spongey in a hurry. These strings are extremely over-rated, over-priced, and dissapointing.
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
These strings are by far the best ones I have ever used. I've tried loads of different strings and Boomers are now the only ones I will use. The tone you get from them is amazing and the feel on the fretboard is wonderful. I recommend these for any other bassist.
Comments about GHS M3045 Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
I am a newer bassist, been playing off and on for about 2 years now whenever I have the time. I must say that the first time I decided to change from stock to new strings I was wary for the fact that I like a worn sound. But after slapping these on and playing for a few days, I got used to the sound and love it. I don't plan to tinker with any other strings. The only detterment is that yes, it sounds a bit tin-ish. But it is still nice!
