Designed for heavy metal, rock, country, blues and pop styles, these strings produce bright, long-lasting tone.

GHS Sub-Zero Boomers electric guitar strings are cryogenically treated in a computerized system with liquid nitrogen. The strings are taken down to a temperature below -300 degrees Fahrenheit and are then gradually restored to room temperature. This treatment improves the dimensional stability of GHS Sub Zero Boomers strings, keeping them in tune, while increasing resistance to corrosion.

Light gauge: 10-13-17-26-36-46.

Comments about GHS Sub Zero Guitar Boomers Light:

GHS strings feature a great core wire that's silky to bend and generally easy to play. The Sub-Zero process really does something to this wire both tonally and physically. Nothing bad, but just different. It makes the tone sound a little less like regular Boomers in that they sound more modern for one thing. The regular Boomers sound like 'Surf Rock' and Rock N' Roll strings to me and have a low-fi, almost gritty-sounding tonality to them which doesn't work for me ultimately. The 'Subz' Boomers don't really have the "gritty" sound to them and the strings sound "smoother" as a result.

The strings are great if you're like me and simply wanna peel away and play music for long periods of time. The Sub-Zero Boomers last longer than standard Boomers and stay in tune tune MUCH better.

The tone through my amp is just simply perfect. And to think I wasn't going to put these strings on my guitar because I didn't think the Sub-Zero's would be much different from the standard Boomers. Granted they both are unmistakably GHS Boomers, but there are both subtle differences (between feel and tone) and not-so-subtle differences (between lifespan and the ability to hold tune better) between the two sets of strings.

Kind of expensive strings, but you get what you pay for. I will only use Sub-Zero Boomers from now on as far as I can tell.

    Love-Hate relationships

Comments about GHS Sub Zero Guitar Boomers Light:

I love these and I hate them! Great bright tone. Stays in tune on my Satriani Trem Ibanez. However, the high E string keeps breaking at the bridge. No other types of strings have done this. I keep scrounging for other E strings from my left over string pile and friends. I found that 11 XLs work great with the 10-45 Boomer sub zero set, but I can't find any more single strings. GHS, please fix this problem! I need you!!
