I have been playing drums for 10 years and this was my first double pedal. I got it about a year and a half ago and i love it. Yes it does sqeak but use a little WD40 on it and the problem is solved. Anyone who says that this isnt for death metal players, you are dumb and honestly dont play death metal yourselves. I can go The Faceless fast on this pedal (go look them up and you will see its very fast) with much ease. I am in a band and my bandmates comment on the speed i can go to. I have even had other drummers from bands that i play with sit down and comment on how smooth and good it is. Some of these drummers use Tama's Iron Cobra and they say it is just as good. I would reccommend this pedal for anyone and the price is great for its performance.

I have been playing the drums for about a year and a half in a blackend death metal band and this peadle was th first thing i spent my money on. at first it was ok, but then i noticed that the left beater would shift back and forth when i would play fast pase double base. so after dealing with this for about a week i took the pedel completely apart and found out that the piece that keeps the left beated was not snug and from playing had been partially unscrewed...and sence then ive had to work on the pedel countless times...i even had to go out and buy new ,bigger, screws because the old ones stripped out. and the beaters shift up and down and get really loose.dont get me wrong...if its all u can afford, by all means buy it...but theres a reason its so cheap...:)

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Double Pedal:

I have been playing drums for 6 years and this was the first double kick pedal that i bought. i had it for about a year and after the first month it started squeaking like crazy. if you play this pedal enough the beaters on it will also come lose.

Kind of an Update

Again. it is a very good pedal but there is ONE design flaw. If you don't wear shoes ( I pick Socks ) the hollow, cut out footboard makes the swivel technique very difficult.

Good Pedals

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Double Pedal:

Ive been playin in a band now for about a year.been playin drums for about 4 years. and i thought it was time to move to a double pedal. ive had this pedal now for about 7 months, i really like it. i find it nice and smooth and light. its not very good if your playing death metal, but i find it quite good for playing some hard rock and things like that. and i heard from someone else that had this pedal. that the beaters come loose. they dont. i took a wrench around my drum key and tighted the beaters till the screw couldnt turn anymore. and they havnt moved or anything since. and they dont ring for me either. just take the small casing off and oil the bearings in there. do it about once a month, and your pedals will be cherry

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Double Pedal:

If you know how to set one of these up right, it will be great. I have mine set up perfect and i have a very good bass drum head. The response is ultra fast and if you get some 5 in 1 oil and oil the bearings and springs, ittl fly. The only reason i give it some lower ratings is because its really hard to get to the spring adjustment. But other then that awesome!

For Beginners

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Double Pedal:

I've had this pedal for 2 years, and at first, it was fine, but as I got better, and played faster, it got worse and worse. I play Whitechapel, All That Remains, All Shall Perish, Avenged Sevenfold, etc. (Fast Metal) and i have to say, it has a horrible response! The beaters come loose, when I play, i feel like the pedal doesn't respond... It's not fast enough! Great for begginers, but as you get good, its horrible, for example, heel-toe, chain gets in the way. Overall, just for beginners.

Its great for any kind of player, not just for begginers and it last a long time but starts to squeak after awhile of playing.

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Double Pedal:

My dad bought this double pedal for me on my 16th birthday just back in may. And i think its a decent pedal for how much it is. And Gibraltar has not let me down yet with here great hardware. This pedal is good for drummers who are starting out on the double pedal and let me tell you it will feel great when you try it. I plan getting the Intruder double chain drive pedal in the future.

Not a bad pedal

By Burning down Neverland

from KY

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Double Pedal:

I've had this pedal for about 3 weeks now and I love it. I would suggest getting new beaters because the ones on it are very damp and hardly make any sound on your bass.. and it has a small delay that can be worked out with breaking the pedal in.. Over all very smooth pedal. Great for the price.
