I gotta say, this pedal is a great value. I saw it and at first though it was going to be under par due to it's low price. But WOW. I bought one a few months ago, then i got a pearl pedal for a second bass drum that i added on. the pearl one broke within a month of use, while the gibraltar one is still playing like it's brand new! i'm buying another to replace the pearl one. The great thing is that it feels really smooth and plays fast. the only thing that has annoyed me, is that it started squeaking for a while, but i put that down as me tinkering around with the damn thing...so i wouldn't mess with it TOO much if i were you.

I have one of these pedals on my school drumset and boy does it suck, if you go any faster than quarter notes it wont respond, and the pedal will fly out of control. Save up and get a double pedal, or if you dont want one a pearl eliminator. Trust me, i have the pearl eliminator and it is amazing, this is the truth.

It's good, but kinda annoying...

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Single Pedal:

I purchased this pedal because the one that came with my drumset was awful. The price, looks, and ability of the pedal is great, except for the beater. The beater is not heavy enough for me, and it keeps coming loose from the assembly. I'm a fairly hard hitter, but I've also tried to counter this by tightening the beater tighter, but it still does. I find myself continously having to stop in the middle of playing to retighten it. Very annoying. All in all, it's good, but beware of the beater.

Very Impressive for the $$$

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Single Pedal:

I bought a pair of these a few months ago for my double bass kit, I was looking to economize and really hoping I would get at least something playable for this price. What a surprise! After setting them up and re-tuning the bass drums to get some good rebound I wasn't sorry I bought them. I prefer to play shoeless but the pedal design isn't the most comfortable so for that I gave the features a 4.5, but I can play with shoes on too so it's not a big deal. Very solid construction, no noise, and very responsive. They have the quality and playability of a lot of pedals costing two to three times the price.

This Pedal

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Single Pedal:

I just got this pedal in the mail on Friday. I actually got two of them for my 8 piece set. I think these pedals are amazing. I haven't had any problems with them at all. Compared to the Iron Cobras I would say these set up way faster. I got them on my set within minutes. If you are thinking of getting these then you should do it.These are way worth the price and there is no reason to spend at least 100 dollars more for something that is as good.

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Single Pedal:

this is an amazing pedal, and it is very smooth, but i have only one fault with it, the spring doesn't seem to be tight enough. my school has this on the drumset, it's smooth, and good for fast stuff, but the beater goes crazy after just one hit, i say, good pedal, just use a different spring

Great Pedal

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Single Pedal:

This is a very good pedal. It has everything that I look for in a pedal. The bottom has Velcro, so if you have a problem with your bass drum sliding forward this will solve it instantly. It is very responsive, and can be adjusted to your preference. There is even a drum key holder on the foot board, which is very convenient. The best thing about this pedal is the price. Get it, you won't regret it.

Comments about Gibraltar Prowler Single Pedal:

In the two years I've owned this pedal, I've encountered the following problems:1. The screw that holds the beater assembly on the hex shaft stripped.2. The rubber piece on the hoop clamp fell off.3. One of the bearings on the hex shaft (drummer's left side) fell out and was originally held in by an allen screw which also puts pressure on the bearing assembly. The feel, speed, and power of this pedal WERE all above average, but it is simply falling apart now. Would not recommend.
