The first new Les Paul I ever bought came with these strings on it, so you can imagine the joy of how I tested my guitar for the first time. The very best thing about these strings is the clear tone, and harmonics you can get out of your guitar, every time you re-string. Tha quality is always there, thanks to the consistancy of the strings, and the packaging from Gibson. I use the light gauge strings, and in many years of playing electric guitar, I haven't used any strings that match the tone, durability, and quality, of strings, set after set. If you don't think strings make that much of a difference in your overall sound, you probably haven't tried Brite Wires yet!

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

I can't get the same sound and feel using other strings on my Les Pauls. Something feels right with the Bright Wires. Discovered them by asking what strings were on my 1960 LP Reissue back in 2005 and keep going back for every guitar since.

Great Strings, Great Value

By Brian-wgAhK

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

Over the past 30 years I've tried most every brand of strings available. After purchasing a LP with Brite Wires on it, I've never gone back. I use them on my LP, SG, Fender Strat, and a '76 Alvarez Electra... Excellent tone, attack, and durability. Wipe them down and they will last forever; but they are also inexpensive enough for me to restring my primary guitar as often as I want.

The Best Strings I've Ever Used

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

I tried them all, Ernie Ball, Dean Markley, GHS, DR and D'Addario over the years and had settled on D'Addario until I purchased a Les Paul Studio in 2004 that had the Brite Wires on it. I haven't gone back to the other brands since. I even use them on my Fender Strat. They have a brite sound and great tone that works for all styles of music and they hold there tone better than the other brands. As long as these strings are available, I'll be using them.

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

They last while, but they really start to hurt your fingers after about 2-3 weeks, but You should change them by then if you play alot anyway. The tone is excellect, but they are expensive. Never broke one with over 20 sets.

These are the strings that came with my les paul classic and they rock. every time I replace the strings, I am always amazed by how they play. Hey, maybe it's just me, but these are amazing strings for an amazing price and until I find better ones, these are the strings I will continue to use.

classic chunk

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

I've always gone for more d'addario but i tried these out and fell in love. I play through an all tube peavey 50 watt amp. And I try to crank it much as I can. I've set these strings up on my les paul studio and man, it's like the 60's all over. I don't even like to play on the distorted channel. I play on clean and it's a roaring beast like in classic rock songs. They really are amazing. I have to use heavy picks on them though, others just won't get any good sound. but the tone is just unbelieveable. Sounds like how a true tube amp should sound. The only problem i've had was when I broke my string. it was my A string. and it broke right on the tune o matic bridge. me and my friends have never seen anything like that. luckily i got a bunch of packs though. these strings really bring a thick tone out of your amp though. great for those classic tones. no twang at all. just solid power. they definately have their niche in my collection of sounds.

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

I just bought a brand new Gibson Les Paul Studio from Musician's Friend. I thought the first thing I'd do is change the strings to my usual blue steels. I have ben playing for hours and I must say that I really like these strings. They have a smooth feeling that I can't quite describe and that I'm not used to. It's easy to play fast and they feel great on the fingers, even after hours of playing.

Gotta have some Brite Wires

By moonchild

from Rockville, MD

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

I bought a Les Paul Studio three months ago and these strigs came with it. I haven't had to change them ever since, they haven't rusted neither lost their gloss and feel very comfortable. You can keep them in good shape by just wiping them with a clean cloth after playing. I had been using D'Addario's XL in my other guitars and they're good strings but don't have as long a life as these and with D'Addario's you'll even require a string treatment. So instead of changing strings every two to three weeks you'll be saving a lot with these.

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

I put these strings on my Fender strat eight months ago. I'm still using them, that's just how diabolical they are. They are extremely tough, and have a rich, warm sound. These are definitely worth the money, and then some.

Comments about Gibson Brite Wires Light Guitar Strings:

Playing guitar 35 years and used every string possible I use two guitars live a Gibson Les Paul studio and a ibanez rg350 .Our band is a three piece so my tone is very important .I only use one effect a delay through my effects loop on either my Randall rg100g3 (live)or Blackstar ht5r (home practice).
We cover allman brothers,ZZ Top,free ,deep purple etc.
Used d'addario for years but break from time to time and got a few fake sets online.
Was using Ernie ball but last a day and they're done loose tone, use!ess
Started to wrap my Les Paul as the bridge stopband was pretty high but the strings loose a lot of tension so more slinky.
My Gibson came new with brite wires but were 9_46 which felt weird to me .
So I got two packs about two weeks ago.a set of 10-46 and 9-42
10-46 went on my Les Paul and wrapped at bridge and oh my goodness what a tone
And the 9-42 on my ibanez rg and wow.
Now these strings are stiffer to play and ring out more than any other string because of the hex code and Swedish steel plus they give the impression that they will survive longer before having to replace.
Now because of the wrap on my Les Paul other string lost they're tone slightly and felt looser with the brite wire even with the wrap feel like 10s again and nice bright tone so on a standard set up on a Les Paul they might feel really stiff like 10.5-11gauge they are a very stiff string but for me works perfect with the wrap.
Now the ernie ball 9s that came on my rg felt far too light a 10s were too heavy feeling for the scale length but because of the extra stiffness of the brite wires they are perfect .Sorry for the long review but I hope it helps .Rock on dude's
