Medium/Light

Comments about Gibson Earl Scruggs Signature Medium Banjo Strings:

Love Earl; love Gibson; but these strings are not heavy enough to be
rated medium guage. I play a Gibson Mastertone, and an Alvarez
Whyte Eagle and neither gives me enough volume with these strings.
For my money the Martin Vega medium is the best sounding of all
I've tried. Good and stiff when picked, with enough volume for a noisy
jam............

Great Sound. Stay Tuned. Pricey but Worth It.

Comments about Gibson Earl Scruggs Signature Medium Banjo Strings:

Highly recommend.
These strings sound and stay tuned much better than D'Addario J61s.
Priced at twice D'Addario J61s, I think they are somewhat over priced, but the benefits out weigh the price difference.

Comments about Gibson Earl Scruggs Signature Medium Banjo Strings:

I have tried many different strings and never been completely satisfied until I tried these. I generally use medium and had even tried almost mediums and medium lights. These lean toward a medium light rather than medium BUT they are loud and consistant and remarkable difference in tone on my Gibson RB75. As for how long they last, I would not know yet but I tend to change strings frequently anyway as I play on a daily basis.

Have tried about every banjo string there is, keep coming back to ES Gibson mediums, a little more money but I think well worth it.
