Comments about Gibson J200L Deluxe Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:
as mentioned in another review-it's a good idea to use strings with silk wrapped ball ends on acoustic guitars-however only two makers have this feature they being martin marques & these j 200's from gibson-i recently bought a really nice 12 year old epiphone j 200-very well taken care of & played alot-i went for a set of martin strings cos i use them on my other acoustics & was pretty disappointed in the way they sounded on this old epi-not really in terms of quality or feel but they sounded somehow too 'soft' like they just didnt have any 'presense'- only other option was the gibson j 200's-it's funny but guitar players rarely use the strings made by the people who built their guitars-almost everyone uses something else-well nice surprize i must say these strings really project-nice even brightness from every string-little pricey but i will continue to use them for the epi for sure....
