I own an epiphone 1966 G-400. The stock strings were alright, and they had pretty good tone and rung pretty good. i went and bought these at my local music store, hoping to get a killer sound. wow. my guitar had turned into some off-brand electric guitar sounding peice of trash with the strings. i run my axe through a peavy 15w vyper modleing amp. its sounds horrible, it sounds lik its on rythm the whole time, even tho the switch is on treble. any chord that uses three or more strings just blow out horribly. honestly i dont know what kind of guitar would use these strings. there stong strings, but the sound is horrible.

I have a 1995 Epiphone Sheraton with humbucker pickups, and have used many different brands of strings over the years. For the past few years, I have used Gibson's Brite Wires and loved them. However, this time when it came time to buy new strings I thought I would go with the new Humbucker strings and give them a chance. My guitar no longer sounds like a Gibson, it sounds more like a Gretsch. I lost that "dual humbucker" sound I love on my Epiphone. The notes fall flat, they don't ring out at all, just a "plunk". My pickup switch is on treble, and it sounds more like its on rhythm. I only get this dull sound that doesn't ring out at all. I have noticed that my fingers don't slide around as easily on these strings as the Brite Wires and as such I'm missing a lot of notes. I highly recommend buying Brite Wires instead.
