Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

"WOW!" That's all I can say!

I'm not sure if I'm a victim of the placebo effect or what, but I think these have resurrected the tone, feel, and overall playability of my Les Paul Trad.

Sorry, I know it sounds like a bit much, but I've strung Ernie Ball Classics Slinkies, Super Slinkies, DR Blues in nickel, and even Blue Steels. All I can say is that the Vintage Reissue nickels in .010 - .046 are the way to go if you want to have that Southern rock sound.

To further enhance my belief of these awesome strings, I checked my intonation, (as you should with every string change - gauge change, especially) and found I was just out of adjustment by a mousehair. My Paulie howls and wails perfectly now!

"Only a Gibson [strung with Gibson strings] is good enough."

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I love the sound of pure nickel strings and these are some of the best! Warm vintage tone, easy bends, and they retain their sound longer than any others I've tried. My '56 Goldtop Reissue with P-90s sounds particularly good. And my '58 Standard sustains for days!

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

These are thick, thickest 10's I've ever bought ever. Hard to initially gauge and wind. Like actual wire. Upside is that they are great sounding tone, very much like having acoustic strings on an electric. Not good for concerts where most may want thinner reliables.

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I put a set of these on my Les Paul back in 2006 and I've never used any other strings since. They sound beautiful, rich and warm and full, and have a very supple touch that feels just amazing. Then, as I continued to use them for their sound, thier long life and resistance to breaking impressed me even more.

An excellent sounding set of strings. I was kind of disappointed in the sound of my '56 Les Paul Gold Top reissue until I discovered these strings. Wow! What a difference! Thick, rich tone, with ringing harmonics to boot. Love 'em!

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

These are the best strings I've ever had on my guitar! I have a LTD ESP EC-1000 Deluxe and these strings sound great on it. I've tried the Ernie Ball Cobalts and changed them after two weeks of use. Too bright and too noisy. I've gone through a lot of different brands of strings searching for a particular sound and I found it with these. I plan to order the Gibson Reissue as my main string from now on. They have great sustain and hold their tune really well also.

If you are looking for a good mellow sound that's not too bright, with good low's and mid-range then these are for you.

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I switched to these from Ernie Ball 10's and I'm glad I did. They add a warmness to your tone especially when distorted I have not found with any other set of strings. I've tried Elixir, D'Addario, Ernie Ball and a few others and they don't compare. Mind you the Ernie Ball strings I was using were only a few months old.

These shine especially when tuned Db Ab Db Gb Bb eb for songs such as High Fiving MF by Local H. I play an old SG knockoff through a used solid state Vox amplifier and I only use my amp's distortion, so my set up is pretty basic. Those things considered these strings breathe new life into my amp and I couldn't ask for more.

Don't bother playing the process of elimination with the countless other brands out there. These will not disappoint you. Tune em up, intonate your guitar and enjoy!

Very satisfied so far. I play my guitars hard. So far, no breakage. Will buy more of these.
Only had these on my Les Paul for a couple of weeks, but WOW! Very smooth, vintage tone. I play Blues/Rock and these things are perfect for the sound that I was looking for. Brings out the best tone from my Les Paul. Pure nickel strings are the best for Classic Rock & Blues.
These are slightly higher priced than the Fender Nickels that I use on my Strat, but would you put Fender strings on a Gibson? Or vice-versa? Definetely recommend these for your Gibby if you play Blues or Classic Rock!
