I play a lot of Celtic tune sets with key changes between tunes. Since I play in DADGAD tuning, a capo is a must. This GL-1 works very well on my old Guild 6 string which has a nice narrow neck. It takes some practice, but I can now change keys without missing a beat and the guitar stays in tune. Problems mentioned by others of it not sliding straight or the guitar going out of tune can be corrected with a little practice. My Taylor 12 string is another matter. The capo is just too small to accommodate the wider neck. It always slips off and ends up with the first string pair not capoed. The mechanisms is also a bit bulky and gets in the way for some first position chords. This is a minor inconvenience. Overall, I am very happy with the GL-1 for use with my 6 string and really wish that they would make one that could be used on a 12 string. For that I just use my old Kyser but it is not as fast and precise as the GL-1.

I think this was an attempt to make the most labor-free capo; it is close. The major knock on this is that switching positions isn't simply as easy as rolling your thumb on the roller. The capo easily becomes misaligned (not parallel with fret) when you shift the capo to a desired postion. You almost always have to do a final "touch-up" adjustment of the capo to make sure it is lined up correctly. One cool thing is that when you want to go back to regular open tuning (0 fret) you can roll this capo onto the nut, clearing the strings. All in all though, I think it is no more convenient than the Kyser Quick-Change, which I now use. Another thing I don't like is the fact that the two metal axle covers on the sides have a harsh grip finish, like fresh grips on metal dumbells. I accidentally dropped the capo on top of my guitar and guess what? That jagged finish on those metal parts dented my guitar!

Comments about Glider GL-1 Guitar Capo:
I have and have used a number of different guitar capo's over the years. This one works for me. I especially like knowing where it is when I'm playing, and the profile doesn't show as much when not being used (don't have to clamp it on the headstock. I like the speed that you can move the capo from fret to fret. However, there are times when the kysor, or other capo's are more acceptable.
Over all, I like the quick change capo.
I like the rollers, makes changing frets smooth and easy
Well designed, and seems to be good quality materials.
Compareable to most other styles and brands

Comments about Glider GL-1 Guitar Capo:
This is a great idea! Being able to change keys on the fly is easy and you can keep the open chord voicings, which is very important. Since I frequently use a capo and I set my guitar up in this manner, this capo works great for me. I've read where some players have problems with their guitars playing out of tune using this capo. Well, it's not the capo! Set your guitar up for how you play or if you don't know how, take it to someone who does. This sure bets the "Morpheus capo pedal" that sells for 150.00 and sucks up any good tone you might have.

This capo is amazing!! I've had no problems with it and taking it off and on is easy. It gives me no problems at all and I've had it for years now.
Comments about Glider GL-1 Guitar Capo:
I was always misplacing my capo and thought it would be a good idea. Just roll it back over the nut and it would always be handy. The problem is that it changes the tuning. I do not have time to be retuning everytime I move the capo. I am going to try something else. Otherwise well made.
Comments about Glider GL-1 Guitar Capo:
This piece of garbage is for the wannabe's and hacks that think it will make then play better. It wont !. It is difficult to apply and even more cumbersome to use. And I hope you like how sharp it will raise your strings when you "slide it off the nut". Kyser is the only way to go. Super fast and adjustable on the fly....not this piece of junk !! Your better off with a pencil and a rubber band !
Comments about Glider GL-1 Guitar Capo:
my friend has one of these things. it's cool i guess, but i'm not a big fan of it... i would rather just use a normal capo because there quicker and easier to use. i mean yeah you can slid this thing up and down the neck, but it's not smooth. and it takes forever to put on and take off the neck. i would much rather just clamp on and clamp off. fraction of a second. done.
Comments about Glider GL-1 Guitar Capo:
I love my gliding capo. Had a few minor problems with mine: my guitar's neck was too narrow, so on the first fret, there was a lot of buzz. When I put the capo past the nut as the description suggests, it would pull all of those strings sharp. Maybe my guitar's just set up funny, but these are the problems I had. For key changes, it is the best thing on the market.
Comments about Glider GL-1 Guitar Capo:
this capo is awsome i just got mine in the mail and i used for bout 5 minutes and i have already made up my mind to buy more for my other guitars, the only disadvantage to it is um nothing it is not as easy to slide up and down as the people on here say but it is easy to use. easy to set up the side comes out so that you can harness it on the guitar, great capo glad i bought it
Comments about Glider GL-1 Guitar Capo:
I have owned this capo for about 2 years now. The quality is excellent. This capo is great if you do a lot of key changes. It is a little pricey but when I play in church and there are key changes it is worth it.
