With the Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic preamp component kit, guitarists can add realistic, acoustic sound to your electric guitar, without altering your magnetic pickups. You can use magnetic pickups and acoustic sounds one at a time, or blended together for an enhanced electric effect.
The Acousti-Phonic preamp requires a 9v battery and comes with a guitar pot for the acoustic volume (though you can also convert one of your tone pots – an included harness connects it to the ghost system). The guitar preamp kit also includes Graph Tech's popular optional switches. If the options in the kit are the ones you want, this will save you the hassle of ordering components individually, and offers better value too.
Natural acoustic sound
The Acousti-Phonic Modular preamp captures the natural acoustics of your electric guitar, which can then be amplified or recorded directly, without feedback or mic placement problems associated with a live or studio amplified acoustic guitar.
Automatic mono/stereo switching
The Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic automatically senses when you plug in a mono cable and blends the acoustic pickup and magnetic signals so you can plug into a guitar amp. Plug in a stereo cable and the signals are output on separate channels: acoustic can be sent to the PA system or an acoustic guitar amp, and magnetic to a regular guitar amp.
On-board controls
By adding the acoustic volume and optional switches, the guitar preamp lets you control the change from acoustic to electric, without relying on the sound guy. This lets you 'play the crowd' more and decide the right moment to shift the mood.
9-18v auxiliary power
The Acousti-Phonic guitar preamp is 18v compatible, and works with both passive and active pickups. It even turns your magnetic pickup system off when you unplug! Battery life for the Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic is 500 hours, so if you practice or gig a few nights a week, replacing the battery just twice a year ensures it will never go dead on stage.
More Than Six?
The Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic is ready for seven strings, right out of the box. It can handle more than seven strings with the addition of some expansion connectors. (Sold separately)
QuickSwitch
3-position switch that lets you instantly switch between electric sounds, acoustic sounds, or both when plugged into the Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic. This mini switch mounts in a 1/4" hole in your pick guard or guitar top.
Acoustic Volume with mid/dark Switch
Volume pot for the Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic guitar preamp has an incorporated push/push switch that selects two EQ settings for the acoustic output – the classic, dark ghost sound, and one with a boost in the mid range (around 2KHz).
Note: this harness also connects your magnetic pickup system to the Acousti-phonic.
Note: You will also need to order ghost Saddle Pickups or a ghost-loaded Bridge Assembly to complete your ghost system. Pickups are different for every type of guitar bridge and these two guitar components are sold separately from ghost modules.

I brought this thinking I would be able to get a really good acoustic sound from my guitar. The wiring diagram could be much better I don't suggest even thinking if u never did anything like this be for. I fix guitars for people and friends. I can't get this to work no matter what I do to it I tried everything. I made sure no wires were touching any grounds triple check all their plugs to make sure their all where they supposed to be fallowed did everything possible to make it work and all I have if a very expenses kill switch. I tired 4 new battery didn't work. I gave it a 1 because it doesn't even make noise!!!! should be a 0. I'm am very disappointed with graph tech maybe I just got a dud or it really that sensitive to shock it comes in a protect plastic to pro tech it from that but still it should be able to take a little if it can't then that just really bad engineering for something going in a guitar! Should be able to take more that is the only I can think of why it's not working I tried everything else.

I rebuilt an Epi Dot installing this system, I run my acoustic sounds out to an acoustic preamp and my electric sounds out to my guitar amp, and it's very very cool. Finally got the guitar sound in my head. If your a strummer like me and an acoustic alone don't do it for you, and neither does an electric, get a semi hollow and install one of these. You'll love it. Put your electric guitar amp on one side of the drums and your acoustic amp on the other and take over the whole rhythm section.
Very cool switching between acoustic electric and both. The mid dark switch almost sounds like a phase switch.
