How do they work?
Each String Saver Classic saddle insert, is impregnated with Teflon, the slipperiest substance on earth. The Teflon in String Savers eases the grip between the saddle and string, spreading the stress over a greater portion of the string, just enough to drastically reduce string breakage. Teflon is 500% more slippery than graphite and is impregnated throughout the String Saver material, so its lubricating properties will never wear out. I just purchased a set of these in chrome for my Blacktop Stratocaster and I am quite pleased. The quality was the first thing I noticed when handling them. These saddles are extremely solid and the beautiful chrome finish really matches the hardware on my guitar while giving the bridge assembly a more sleek and modern look. I wanted these because I figured they would provide more comfort for my hand since I do a lot of palm muting, and they did just that. In terms of sound, I notice only a slight increase in sustain, but the strings definitely sound much more articulate now. These are a vey worthy upgrade for any Tele or Strat.
