I had been using the same pics for nearly 30 years and was quite satisfied with them and I would from time to time try some new picks but they never felt right to me, so I always stuck with the picks I had always been using. Then, just short of a month ago I saw a demo vid for TUSQ guitar picks, so I bought a dozen from MF. You have to try these to believe them! I noticed an instant difference in fullness of tone and dexterity...I didn't realize that something as simple as a change of guitar picks could have such an impact on my tone and dexterity! I have been playing for nearly 50 years and I was pretty sure I was set in my ways as a guitarist, but let me tell you, just try these picks and you'll notice an improvement in your tone and your playing in the first 10 seconds!

Interesting tone that I enjoy for playing oldies but the tonal improvement is overpowered and outweighed by the 'scratchy' sound of the unfinished edge coming off the strings. It has that very thin edge from the plastic mold.

Graphteq is a 'material' company and the material is a nice innovation. They should license the material to Dunlop and let them make the pick. All it needs is a little sanding which i havent done yet. Still, interesting pick to try.

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ A1 Picks:

After 40 years of playing with Fender plastic picks, I believed I would never find a better acoustic guitar pick. I was wrong. I bought the... White .68 Tusq picks and love them. They glide across the strings like butter, smooth and clean sound, and they make the tone actually sound richer, deeper some how. They also continue to deliver stable sound even after the edges have become waorn and bevelled. One pick lasts me months. ...They may not be as pretty as the Fender colored picks whick I still like...but boy, do these Tusq picks ever play, sound, and feel SMOOTH. Three cheers to MF for offering these to us!

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ A1 Picks:

I noticed my guitar tech using a TUSQ A1 while he was playing scales on one of my guitars. He had just finished a set-up on it. He allowed me to audition his pick for a few minutes. Straight-away I bought some from MF for a more in-depth and lengthy trial. I have grown to appreciate the substantial feel and the mellow tone they provide. I am a "strummer" and they work very well for me. I have more waiting on my "wish list."

Started with Fender Lights in the 60's, Mediums in the 70's-80's, then Dunlop's from then until last year. Love the feel and sound of these. I also just love dropping them on a hard surface to hear them sound a note.

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ A1 Picks:

I have used Jazz III picks for many years because I prefer small picks. MF does not handle the small (jazz) size in these picks, so I ordered a sample pack direct from Graph Tech. They provide three colors/tones in .88 and 1.00 in dark gray, white, and yellowish creme. Each color has its own sound and/or tone. None of them are bad, but I use the lighter colored ones because they are easier to find if you drop one. The best thing is that they are really grippy and don't move when you hold them. I have tried the Jazz III with the extra texture, but I find that they rotate between my finger and thumb. I have not used them long enough to make any comments on longevity, but they don't seem to wear any faster than any other pick.
Overall, I like these very much and I have started to use them almost exclusively.

Picks with tone! The raised lettering on the pick gives excellent grip. My favorite picks.
